Whenever I play video games on my pc, after a little while, different parts of my screen start turning red, and it makes gaming on my pc almost intolerable. Any thoughts on what the problem could be?

Is this every game? Or just a specific one? What operating system are you using? It could be your video card overheating. – fbueckert Feb 15 at 17:44
Or your monitor going. – Ender Feb 15 at 17:46
It is every game, windows 8, and i don't think it is the monitor, and the particles that turn red tend to shift around – Scottttie Feb 15 at 17:47
Any chance you might be able to include a screenshot? That could help isolate where the problem is. – fbueckert Feb 15 at 17:48
I do have one, but i am at a loss as to how to upload it to this site – Scottttie Feb 15 at 17:52

I had this exact problem, it ended up being a loose HDMI connection. When the screen is showing all the little red parts, try readjusting the HDMI cord. If it is indeed an HDMI connector issue, you should see the red turn back to normal instantly. Check both HDMI connector ends. If you're not using HDMI, check the ends of whatever connector you are using.

The way you can verify that this is the problem is by taking a screenshot, saving it to a file, then viewing it on another machine. If it looks fine on the other machine, then it is a connector or monitor issue.

I don't think this is the problem the OP is having. He gets this every time he starts playing a game. A loose HDMI connection occurs regardless of what the user is currently doing. – deutschZuid Feb 15 at 23:25
@JamesJiao, you may be right, but my issue only occurred when I was playing a movie, so I think it could still potentially be it. – PileOfDuty Feb 19 at 19:03
