Arqade is a question and answer site for passionate videogamers on all platforms. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I recently created a Craftbukkit server on my PC. I wanted to login and build some stuff on it but whenever I try to login it just says:

Connection lost, failed login: bad login

I don't know what is wrong with it, I've tried every possible way I found on the net, for example, I tried to connect using localhost, my PC's IP address (with and without the port:25565) but nothing changes.

I use a cracked client, so I changed the online mode to false in the server properties but still can't solve the problem.

Here is my server.properties file, if it helps:

#Minecraft server properties
#Fri May 31 00:44:28 IDT 2013
generator-settings=
allow-nether=true
level-name=world
enable-query=false
allow-flight=false
rcon.password=
server-port=25565
level-type=DEFAULT
enable-rcon=true
force-gamemode=false
level-seed=
server-ip=
max-build-height=256
spawn-npcs=true
white-list=false
debug=false
spawn-animals=true
hardcore=false
snooper-enabled=true
texture-pack=
online-mode=true
pvp=true
difficulty=1
gamemode=0
max-players=20
rcon.port=25575
spawn-monsters=true
generate-structures=true
view-distance=10
motd=A Minecraft Server

And I'm also wondering, how can I make myself the admin of the server?

Don't have an install in front of me, but for becoming an op on your server, you'll need to add your username to the ops.txt (I think) file. You may also have to create it. –  MBraedley May 30 '13 at 19:47

Or in the server run command op USERNAME. Also, if the server is running on the same machine you are playing on, use ip 127.0.0.1 –  Batophobia May 30 '13 at 20:08

Well duh, don't use a cracked client. We legally can't condone piracy here, so I'm voting to close as off topic. –  SevenSidedDie May 30 '13 at 20:33

Your age doesn't matter. We don't help with piracy at all, I'm afraid. There are no extenuating circumstances, sorry. –  Frank May 31 '13 at 14:07

Mhhh... You said you set "online-mode" to false, but in the config file you provided, it's set to "true".

To set it to "false" permanently, open your .bat file (the file you use to start your server) and change

-o true

to

-o false

The "-o false" is a command to set "online-mode=false"

Your server should now be in ofline mode. You should be able to connect via "localhost"

thank you sir very much it worked me now one thing more how to set myself admin of my server and can my freinds too can join the server –  Akash May 31 '13 at 2:50

This should be asked as a separate question. You need to ask your username in ops.txt and your friends should be able to connect if you port-forwarded properly. –  Jeffrey Lin Jun 28 '13 at 14:46
