So, I've been wanted to do more gaming on my surface pro, especially using a DS emulator to turn it into a giant Gameboy. However, in order to do this, I'd need some virtual d-pad/buttons to touch (the existing virtual keyboard isn't cut out for gaming).

Ideally this would take the form of a desktop app that creates these controls in a separate window that I could position relative to my game window. does anything like this exist? and if not then is there another way to realize my giant Gameboy dreams?

A lot of android apps handle this by having the virtual controller overlay the screen, although this is handled by the app itself, and not a third party program. Still, that might be another option - if you can find one that overlays programs – Robotnik Aug 20 '13 at 23:26
@Robotnik some emulators also provide this functionality, for example PPSSPP, maybe there's a Gameboy emulator that does it too. – kotekzot Aug 20 '13 at 23:56
