A friend of mine found a computer really cheap and wonders if Sims 3 (which is the only game his kids play) will work on it.

Being the lazy developer I don't really care about hardware anymore, so can you please help me? :)

See this...kotaku.com/5112216/here-are-your-sims-3-system-requirements... stay away from AMD based laptops, go with Intel, trust me on this one. – Moab Dec 20 '10 at 14:16
"Sims 3 (which is the only game his kids play)" - Maybe he should replace his kids instead of his laptop ... ;-) – bwarner Dec 20 '10 at 14:58

I play Sims3 on an old Pentium 4 laptop, with 2 gig ram and a Mobility x600 graphics card. I even installed it on an external USB hard drive. It takes a little while to load and it doesn't run fantastically, but it runs more than well enough to play it and not have it freeze up or have fits.

The laptop referenced should not have an issue playing Sims3.

My sisters are playing on a desktop computer that looks suspiciously like that. However, the game takes a long time to boot! Thereafter, the game runs smoothly. However, it is unthinkable to do anything afterwards! A complete restart is needed!
