I bought Terraria a few days ago and I saw people with mohawks and an afro. Now I was wondering how I could get the same?

Link? I don't think it's possible without editing the sprite itself somewhere. –  The Communist Duck May 20 '11 at 9:41

on totalhalibut youtube's channel he said he used slime gells. I've tried this, but nothing happened –  Sir Ksilem May 20 '11 at 9:49

On the character creation menu, click 'Hair'. Above the Hair Colour sliders is 'Hair 1'. Clicking that iterates through a number (15 or so) of different hair styles.

Afraid so, as far as I can see. You may be able to edit your file somehow. –  The Communist Duck May 20 '11 at 11:23

use Terraria InvEdit, and no, you aren’t a cheater if you don’t actally use it to cheat. Tools are tools. If somebody uses a hammer, he’s no murderer, just because there were murders executed with hammers. –  flying sheep Jun 12 '11 at 18:03

19 new hairstyles were added in the Terraria 1.0.6 update, so now there are 36 different hairstyles to choose from. You can now clycle through the hairstyles backwards by right-clicking on the hair selection screen when creating a new character. –  jaminja Aug 10 '11 at 20:23

There currently is no way to change your hairstyle in game.

However, since character progression in Terraria is achieved solely through getting better equipment, it is possible to create a new character and choose a new hairstyle, then you can give the new character all of your old equipment.

You can do this by storing it in a chest (or any storage item, but do not leave items on the floor, or they will disappear) in your world using the old character; save and quit; then use your new character, open up the same world, and pick up all the equipment that you stored away. No progress will be lost.

Note: If you are playing on a multiplayer server, it would be better to store your equipment in a piggy bank or a safe while you do this, so that other players cannot take your valuable equipment.

I would recommend doing this in a single player world stored locally if possible.
