This number started at 95. After going through the initial stages, it now reads 82 for me. What is it about?

Clicking on the number brings to the ingame shop/trading center, so I'm kinda worried by its meaning.

From the wiki:

The energy meter is on the lower right-hand corner of your game screen. The lower bar is the mist energy meter, while the large number atop it denotes the amount of crystal energy held.

Mist energy is the 'free' energy your character accumulates over time and is capped at 100. Crystal energy can be purchased with RL cash moneys or in-game crowns and, AFAIK, has no cap.

Does crystal energy deteriorate over time, or is it always there? – ashes999 May 31 '12 at 16:30

(Disclaimer: I haven't played SK since Beta so details may have changed slightly, please feel free to edit this post)

I forget the name but basically this is your 'free' energy meter. You get 100 (maybe just 95?) energy per 24 hours, and it's used for things like opening doors and operating lifts. If you want more energy, thereby letting you do more of that stuff, you need to buy it from the in-game store. (This is why your energy is 0 - you've never bought any. Your 'free' energy always gets used first, I believe.)

Now (dunno about before) is 100 mist energy for 22 hours. – Lohoris Jul 22 '11 at 23:01

On the right bottom of your screen It basically shows you your energy system.

On top with the big numbers are your crystal energy you can spend them on upgrading your stuff,or trading it to someone or to play missions.

Below your crystal energy is mist energy you can't trade it, you can only spend it on missions and upgrading weapons and gear.
