I wonder if it is possible to play Dungeon Keeper levels in another game which is not from the Dungeon Keeper series. I imagine being able to enter these dungeons with some other RPG. Is that possible?

An interesting idea, but I've never heard of a game that can read a save game from some other company's game and recreate the content of the save game. – bwarner Jul 3 '11 at 14:03

@bwarner There are several games that do just that, open source mostly. I don't know of any for DK though. The engines for these games were pretty original, so it may be more difficult than, say, using Quake levels. – jv42 Jul 3 '11 at 14:50

@user Some are clones, some go beyond that and add features, but some also use maps and map editors to do something else. That's particularly true for Doom/Quake derivatives. I think I saw a RPG based on Warcraft II maps at one point too, but I can't remember the name. – jv42 Jul 4 '11 at 8:59

Seems to me that this question contravenes the "Catalogues (listing games that fit specific criteria or are like an existing game)" rule in the FAQ. – Ragnar Jul 4 '11 at 13:06

@user712092 - I'm sorry, no, it wouldn't help. Game-recommendation questions cannot be answered 100% accurately, since the answer is not 100% true (everybody has their own opinion, which is subjective, which we try to avoid on SE). These questions lead to a discussion, not a Q&A-type situation. I would recommend asking in chat. People are helpful over there, and nice guys to boot! – Ragnar Jul 4 '11 at 14:28

I don't know about RPG:s but since the game is built on the (modified) Magic Carpet engine, you might be able to fly around in the dungeons in that game if you feel hackish. :-)
