since i loved the original Fallout 2 game, i'm looking for mods/fan made sequels or things like that. I liked the atmosphere of the old game, so i'm looking for something that would just try to extend the original game, not to change it (or at least not dramatically). Does somebody know any good mods that work on Windows 7?

I dont see any shopping recommendation here. A mod is not the same as a DLC and Fallout 2 certainly never had any DLCs. Mods are generally free of charge. – PeterK Jan 12 '12 at 9:53
It's the same type of question with the same type of problems. Just because you're not paying for it doesn't mean it isn't a recommendation. the problem is that the questions are subjective, and just become a list of people listing their "Favourite" mod. – Wipqozn Jan 12 '12 at 14:06
It's not so much that this is a shopping recommendation, but a request for a Catalogue, which you'll find specifically prohibited under our FAQ. Catalogues (listing games that fit specific criteria or are like an existing game). This extends to asking about mods. There are problems with these being "list of X" questions, which invite single items as answers, where no one answer can be chosen. No Mutants Allowed has a collection of mods. No hands-on experience with any yet.

Megamod is something surely worth trying. It's got a tons of fixes, some new quests and new or changed maps.
