There is a new Star Wars game in beta right now. I was wondering if anyone tell me how large it is map- wise and how it compares to other popular games?

Considering TOR is still in beta, I'm voting to close this based on the fact that it is too localized. Even at release, this question will become quickly out of date as new worlds are added to it and it updates and the games you want to compare it to also update. – FAE Nov 24 '11 at 12:17

The 17 planets are similar in size to the Zones in World of Warcraft, so it's about the size of Kalimdor.

About the same. The starting areas are quite small and compact and as you progress in levels you travel to new planets. From there the maps get progressively larger. I read somewhere that tatooine is huge. Having played world of warcraft I'd say that on average the maps are roughly the same with perhaps a few that are slightly larger.
