In Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls, I've found a Daemon Statue as part of my character (Human Fighter) quest.

I can sell it to Ironhand the item shop owner for 3,000G, but since I've got several hundred times that in spare cash already it doesn't seem like a particularly good deal. Still, it's implied that selling it for money is the hero's "plot" goal. Whether I sell it or not I get a "quest progress" chime.

Is there any reason to keep the statue? In older Wizardry games statues had strange, but often important effects.

I assume you are talking about the statue you get from 5F of Shiin's Dungeon as Chris. This is part of his Character Senario, if you refused the first offer all you get is 1000g the next time. I believe you have to do this since you get a bronze achievement trophy for completing Chris' Senario when you do. – Krazer Nov 15 '12 at 19:58
