Are there plans to repackage SC1 and broodwar as remastered/resulution and graphics updated?... I would like to re-live the saga of the old game in hi res...

I can only refer you to this related discussion on Meta, where I argue that we shouldn't speculate, since they have no value if there's no positive answer. The fact that yours has an answer, doesn't change that – Ivo Flipse Aug 18 '10 at 14:25
Voting to close this as too localized, since this question isn't dealing with a game that has already been released and if ever such a game comes out this question will become obsolete. Blizzard has announced no such plans.

@Nam Strix didn't say that Blizzard HAS no such plans, just that they haven't announced them. If there was an announcement about it, then it would almost certainly be covered all over the internet. If you look around and find a credible citation that indicates otherwise, then please post it here. If you can find no such sources, then you have to assume that Strix is correct. – Dave McClelland Aug 10 '11 at 12:20

The only thing I know of is the Starcraft Reborn project, which attempts to let players replay the original Starcraft on the Starcraft 2 engine; but it seems that

  1. That project does not intend to 100% faithfully clone the old Starcraft campaign, they want to change/add some missions.
  2. That project is still in its infancy.

Also be aware that many multiplayer sc1 maps are converted to sc2, though I guess that's not what you are asking about.

I was wondering if there was a third party project for this, very cool. It just doesn't make any sense on so many levels that Blizzard would do this. – ioSamurai Aug 18 '10 at 13:28
