Basically who works vs a Shen? and why?

Hi @Sydny, your question was closed as Not A Real Question because it's overly broad. Countering Shen depends on who you're playing, who you're laning with, whether or not you have a jungler, who Shen is laning with, rank vs. non-ranked, and many other variables. If you were to to describe a situation or game in which you had trouble against a top lane Shen in detail, giving us information like what I listed above, then this question could possibly be reopened. i think that renekton is strong against him, and warwick works find too. other strong champs with high supstain, lee or irelia, i even tried Wukong and that worked out fine too. but i really think renekton destroy him

Warwick works fine vs him , and with the help of the jungler we keep him shut

The best way to counter a Shen is to have someone with a ton of sustain, CC and a good escape. Warwick, Udyr, Jarvan etc. As long as you can interupt Shen's ult you can completely disrupt his effectiveness in his team. Also have your jungler gank often, best way to get around a tough lane.

There are really two ways to counter shen. One is be aggressive early game so that you do more poke damage per exchange. This works also because you can push minions to the turret, meaning he must use vorpal blade to last hit instead of poke. Champions good at this are Riven and Pantheon. But beware, you will be prone to ganks while pushing. The other strategy is to sustain better than him. Warwick is the optimal choice for this, but a well played Irelia can do this.

To counter shen, you need several things:

  1. Good sustain to deal with relentless q's.

  2. Some sort of stun in order to stop him from teleporting away if he tries

  3. Tanky enough to survive a head on collision with him in lane.

In the end, the good counters are irelia, warwick, vladimir, riven, etc.

Nidalee can be really strong against him as well. Go Cloth/5pot and level your heal (E) first and just try to trade with him. If he pushes you get your jungle to gank him.
