As the question states I am curious to see other variations of setups for Summoner's Rift. Is it extremely rare to see a team go solo top, two mid and solo bot? Just for the added pressure to mid tower or will we never see this style of play from a teams strategy book?

The meta right now is the most efficient and it would take some game-breaking stuff to change it. Riot even makes new champions to fit in this meta. Don't think it will go anywhere anytime soon. |

i doubt we will ever see something like this ever happening unless they phase the jungle out and make it irrelevant to jungle. the jungle is probably the most important role in the game as it keeps pressure on the lanes with ganks and the probable gank that is to come, as well as helping out your lanes to make sure they are not falling behind. I mean you can run whatever you want too in the game, its just the current meta is so set in stone right now with the whole farm till your carries solo farm until they stomp the other team, that i dont see a change unless riot does something to make farming or ranged carries weaker. |

If you can think up a new layout that is better than the current one, and start showing it off in ranked games, playing that style every time, then eventually it will catch on. The current layout is so efficient, though, that it will take a lot of thinking to significantly change it. some people are reverting to a layout without a jungler because then the two top can dominate against a solo top who hasn't seen a duo top is a long time. Anyway, if you can find a good layout, and it is either better or the same, it will slowly catch on. Good luck. |
