I bought Rayman Forever from Gog.com.

I wonder if there is a HD addon for this game?

@NickT What are the best mods for improving the appearance of Oblivion? 10k only. That question was closed (and is now deleted), and is no different from this question. –  Wipqozn Mar 31 '12 at 18:27
@Leadri stop picking on Wipqozn for performing his civic duty: what's fair's fair and if he didn't notice your question, somebody else would've. This question is currently phrased as a request for game modifications, thus being either the border of a recommendation for a mod (not allowed) or a list of mods (also not allowed.) –  badp Mar 31 '12 at 18:55
It's have not to be a mod. I asked this question because I see some news about Rayman HD. Maybe there's a official patch to make it HD? No it's impossible because you think "It must be a mod. And it's not allowed. Period." –  Leadri Mar 31 '12 at 18:59
@Leadri Hostility isn't taken to very kindly here. There is an FAQ you can read for some better guidelines on asking questions, and failing that, other users are trying to give you some good advice in the comments about content suitable for the site, and you're arguing with them. This isn't a forum like you're probably used to; we have a specific set of criteria for questions and answers that we allow on the site, and the community appears to have decided that this doesn't really meet them. As an answer to your question, you probably heard about 'Rayman Origins', a brand new HD Rayman game. –  DwarfSlice Mar 31 '12 at 19:15

No, there does not appear to be any mods that give graphical upgrades to the game.

Remember, this game was originally designed to work well in DOS, and technically the GOG version is just bundling the game with DOSBox in order to get it running on your system. That it looks old and pixelated is to be expected.

However, since it is a DOSBox application, you can change the way in which the graphics are scaled up to your monitor's resolution by editing the config files. According to the GoG forums, the config file is in the same folder as the game itself. You can read up on the configuration file syntax on the DOSBox wiki. I'd suggest trying different values for the "scaler" entry under the "render" category.

Thanks for your answer. I will look config files. Also I asked this question because I see "Rayman HD" news last months for tablets and consoles. And I just wondered if there's one for PC. Thanks again for information. –  Leadri Mar 31 '12 at 18:00
@Leadri You probably saw ads for 'Rayman Origins' which is an entirely standalone game. It was recently released for PC, and has been out for consoles for a little while. Rayman Origins is an HD throwback to the original sidescrolling Rayman games. –  DwarfSlice Mar 31 '12 at 19:18
@GnomeSlice No, I saw about Rayman HD news about old games. –  Leadri Mar 31 '12 at 19:18
As I said, Rayman Origins is a throwback to the original games. It's being widely touted as "A new, fully HD Rayman inspired by the old Rayman games". As far as I know, there's no way to 'patch' the older ones to have HD graphics. That just simply wouldn't work without completely rebuilding the game from the ground up. –  DwarfSlice Mar 31 '12 at 19:22
