Recently, whenever I have tried to download custom maps in TF2 when joining a server, it stops the connection, prompts me to blacklist that server and says something about "couldn't CRC map." does anyone know what that means? UPDATE:

Deleting and redownloading maps does not work like said in Steam forums, and my multiplayer settings let any custom content be downloaded from servers. Anyone encounter a fix?

It may be using a hammer instead of a scalpel, but have you tried a full re-install of TF2 yet? I'm sure there's a better fix, but I haven't played TF2 in so long that I've forgotten most of what I used to know. – RESPAWN Apr 20 '12 at 15:32
Ok, I'll try that. – Portali5t Apr 20 '12 at 20:00
Are you on a Mac? I believe it's a known problem that Mac TF2 always fails to download maps correctly. – Kevin Reid Apr 21 '12 at 1:22
Nope, I have a Windows 7 pc. – Portali5t Apr 22 '12 at 21:19

This may be because the download, you most likely installed a bad version of the map or messed up while putting it in the files

this is from personal experience
