Say I choose to be a gnome, the race with the least starting strength points... And say I want to be a warrior.

Will I be able to max out the strength later on, so it matches the one of a Tauren? Or will Taurens always have more strength than me?

Basically, I'm asking if the starting stats matter only for the start of the game, and normalize later on...

There will always be the base difference, but since the difference is so low (10 stats with 4000+ str at 85) it will not matter much, what is of more importance is the racial abilities that come with each race. For example if you choose to play a tank the Tauren gets 5% health increase, at high levels this will make a bigger difference compared to base stam.

Great, thanks! I wont play a gnome, but a dwarf paladin though... – jcora May 12 '12 at 16:31
@bane personally I like the Gnomes for there small size, making them harder to spot in pvp, but since I got a bit of OCD with getting rep my main char was a human so that I got the bonus reputation. – Blem May 12 '12 at 16:35
Yeah, that's true! When I battle with a gone rogue I can hardly even target him! – jcora May 12 '12 at 16:41
i think gnomes are coolest, if for no other reason than in a standard fight of gnome vs other its a difference of no less than 3 feet and the gnome either holds his own or wins. yea buddy. This anklebiter just handed you your arse. – Ender May 12 '12 at 18:11
