I just learned from this question that it's possible to resurrect allies. We also know from this question that the penalty for dying is a 10% degradation in durability.

If you revive/resurrect an ally, is the durability penalty prevented?

@bwarner You're right, I changed the body text to be consistent. Thanks! – Brysonic May 18 '12 at 21:08

You take the durability hit when you die. It doesn't matter how you are returned to life.

Found this screenshot online, so it may be from beta. I'll post my own screenshot if I ever die. *evil cackle* (my wife has died, that's how I know the answer to this question) (aww, that was a sad thing to write) – dpatchery May 18 '12 at 20:53
It still looks basically the same. – Shinrai May 18 '12 at 22:08

No. You gain the durability penalty immediately once you die.

So if you are in a boss fight and you die again and again and again but get a revive every time, eventually your equipment will break ( 0 / X durability )
