Apparently they changed SOMETHING about the visuals in patch 1.03. Something huge, as everything on my screen has become considerably clearer and easier to see. Has anyone else noticed this change? What exactly was changed to cause this improve in visuals without loss of framerate?

(I should also note that although my framerate hasn't noticably dropped from these changes, my FR display (Ctr+R) is now locked at 0, why?)

@Jakobud The point I'm trying to make here is assuming the game DID change my resolution automatically, why is there no drop in my framerate, as there WOULD have been a considerabl drop in framerate if I had done so pre-patch. – Ender Jun 19 '12 at 21:03

From the patch notes "Several performance improvements have been made to both the PC and Mac client". It is possible your client automatically adjusted the video settings to compensate for this. I'm not sure what your really asking here. – Resorath Jun 19 '12 at 21:06
@Resorath I didnt see that in the patch notes, and although I honestly did read them, some of said reading was 'skimming' as there were quite a bit of them. Post in answer and I'll accept. – Ender Jun 19 '12 at 21:07

Blizzard did add a "smooth shadows" option in the video menu which you may be able to attribute to this, but I am not aware of any other changes they have made.

Go to options video and change your resolution. It put my resolution down and I could barely see, I changed it back to its native and its back to crystal clear as before.

Not sure why this update changed it, but it did for me at least...
