Arqade is a question and answer site for passionate videogamers on all platforms. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I recently rebuilt an old PC to use as a secondary PC just for gaming. I installed Win 7 and the MarkC mouse fix, but I still don't find it comfortable when aiming at long range targets. (I also disabled mouse setting in games, for example in Arma2 I've set X axis, Y axis and smoothing to 0.)

Any other suggestions besides the MarkC fix I could try?

The mouse I'm using on that PC is a Genius NetScroll 200, monitor resolution normally is 1440x900, but when I have some time to swap video cards with my main PC I may use 1920x1080.

Hi, iotcx, welcome to Arqade. Unfortunately, this is off-topic, as it doesn't pertain to any specific game. You may have more luck on Super User. – fbueckert Jul 12 '12 at 18:33
Also, no matter how well you may optimize your mouse, it comes down to how well you handle it. Things like sensitivity factor into your play style. I've had friends play with such high sensitivity that a flick of their wrist turns them twice and some that have it so low that they are moving their entire arm for a 180. – Sorean Jul 12 '12 at 18:40
If you're playing a game that allows it (such as Tribes Ascend), you may want to set your FieldOfView (FOV) to a low degree number. This will allow you finer control at range while risk of losing track of close targets. – David B Jul 12 '12 at 19:48

Here's my answer on this topic, it should apply to almost any FPS game: gaming.stackexchange.com/a/27422/11047 – Decency Jul 12 '12 at 23:18
