OK @Juan - the meta question has established unequivocally that questions like this are definitely allowed. Could you "un-close" it now? – MGOwen Nov 11 '10 at 0:37
@MGO, I don't think consensus has been reached (in fact, there are more opinions against it), but I'll ask the other moderators for their opinion and we'll resolve it. – jmfsg Nov 11 '10 at 0:51

Three Linux PSX emulators are:

pSX emulator - It's my favourite emulator, but the Linux version is somewhat of a second class version.

ePSXe - If I remember rightly you could get this from the Ubuntu repos last time I used Ubuntu.

PCSX - This is also supposed to be quite good, and I have used it's successor PCSX2 (emulating the PS2) and found it to be very good.

However, all of these, like most PS1 emulators are long out of development, so any issues you encounter will not be fixed.

ePSXe is currently still being developed (for Windows, at least). Last version was released Nov. 2012. And an Android version was released August 2012. – galacticninja Dec 26 '12 at 2:57
