Playing through Pokemon Conquest, I noticed that when trying to link with a wild Pokemon, occasionally my link progress was reset when I didn't link on the first attempt. Also, when trying to link with Arceus using the hero, my link progress was reset 3 times before it held its place on the 4th time.
What determines if the progress is saved between attempts?
