I am from California, I am visiting family in Connecticut for the holidays. It being a long vacation I decided to bring my xbox, and all works fine with it except it will not connect to the internet, and I can't figure out why.

I have been looking for answers for a little while now and all I am coming up with is network connectivity answers which don't really apply to me. As my xbox is finding the network and connecting to the network fine from the appearance of it.

During the connection testing, the network is found, then it just sits on testing the internet for about a minute then fails. I know the router is working as I have 3 laptops, 2 ipads, 2 iphones, and a couple other random devices hooked up wirelessly accessing the internet through the router without problem.

So I have tried a handful of things from unplugging my router, modem, etc in attempts to get this to work, even restoring the network settings to factory settings.

I am at a complete loss as to how to diagnosis this so I can get it back online, hoping someone here has some gems of wisdom to help me out.

I bet its a router setting. Have you hooked the 360 directly to the modem? – drneel Dec 21 '12 at 2:59
