Are there any games that run as Microsoft Office macros (using the open document as the level)?

I'm not aware of any, but there are a few games written in Javascript that do this to webpages. Try Erkie and Destroy the Web (Firefox only). – badp♦ Oct 30 '10 at 6:42

Office apps ship with VBA, which is just a flavor of the Visual Basic programming language. You can do a lot of clever things with the office apps. :) – Wikwocket Oct 30 '10 at 17:27

Not exactly what you're looking for, but Ribbon Hero could be considered a game, of sorts. Plus you learn Office Micro skills!

It's not really a game, it's a simulator, implementing Conway's Game of Life in Excel is one of my favorites, and it doesn't need any macros as long as you don't mind hitting F9 to iterate; I remember doing something similar in Lotus 1-2-3 (v1.0!) many moons ago.
