The Gyro aiming is optional and can be turned off if you see fit. As an alternative you can simply use the analogue stick to aim which ever weapon you might be wielding (Its used to aim the slingshot, bow, boom-a-rang, hookshot, etc). However; as a personal preference I find the gyro-aiming considerably easier and much more responsive to use compared to the ...

Yes, what you want to do is possible. While all 3DS software is region-locked, Nintendo DS software is not. Because that region-locking isn't encoded into the DS software, you can play software from all regions on your 3DS. You can even check out this youtube video where someone demonstrates a DS games from North America, Japan, and Europe on their North ...

There will be no 3D effect with a regular DS game, as this IGN article states: Standard DS games will not have the ability to be displayed in stereoscopic 3D on the 3DS. DS games will...only be displayed in standard 2D. To further the point, on this comparison chart from Nintendo, it states at the bottom that: Only Nintendo 3DS software can be ...

The 3DS, unlike the Nintendo DS before it, is region-locked. There are 3 regions: North America, Japan and EU/Australia. So if you buy your 3DS in Australia, you'll need to purchase games from either the EU or Australia as well. Nintendo explained their reasoning in the following statement: “Nintendo 3DS hardware is available in three versions: Japanese, ...

According to Nintendo's own FAQ (Click General Information -> What Is Transferred During the System Transfer Process?), you will keep your game on the target system, and be able to redownload it from the eShop, see the two excerpts from the answer: What Is Transferred During the System Transfer Process? Applies To: Transfer From Nintendo 3DS Answer: ...

For built-in software, they're used in: Streetpass Quest I and II: Two coins apiece for a "wanderer", random color, level 1 or 2, that goes along with miis you've met. It's usually a good idea to max out to have 10 characters in the party whenever you "venture forth". In quest 2 you can also spend 2+level coins to have previously met miis rejoin even ...

Unfortunately, as you have noted, without the original system to transfer to, you are likely without hope. 3DS titles are tied to console, not to any ID (Nintendo Network ID or otherwise), so without the console, you can't do a whole bunch. If you had the console, you'd be able to do things differently, but as it stands, there isn't much you can do. There ...

Nintendo states that the 3DS is SDHC compliant, (The HC here means "high capacity") which means that any SD card that is SDHC compliant should work. Almost all SD cards that are larger than 2GB are SDHC cards and should work fine. There's a little logo on the card that looks like a stylized SD with the letters "HC" underneath. SDHC cards have a maximum ...

It is possible - with the newest software update (version Version 3.0.0-6U), you can transfer software, sounds, and images from one 3DS to another using the System Transfer found in the System Settings menu. However, if you no longer have access to the Nintendo 3DS, the transfer cannot be completed. It is all transferred using local wireless communication, ...

No. He either wants Pokémon White OR Pokémon Black, or Pokémon White AND Pokémon Black.

Blocks on the 3DS are each 128KB in size. This translates to 8 blocks per Megabyte, or 8192 per Gigabyte. (All using proper binary prefixes, of course.)

It's not in the Mii Maker, which is kind of counterintuitive: The special Mii hats can only be used in StreetPass Mii Plaza. The "Mii Settings" that you're looking for are not present in Mii Maker. Select your Mii in the StreetPass Mii Plaza and you'll see "Mii Settings", where there is an option to wear a hat that you found in Find Mii.

For the regular 3DS, the mic is the small hole under the Start button. For the 3DS XL, it is on the right of the Start button. It is a small hole marked with a 'mic' label above it.

No, the person you connected with in StreetPass will not see your updated mii UNTIL you can manage to connect with them again. This is because the 3DS StreetPass doesn't use the internet, and has no way of connecting unless you are in the radius of the other person's StreetPass, as it does not update live. As a matter of fact, Your mii won't update until the ...

There appears to be two modes for playing DS games on the 3DS. If you hold Select+Start while the DS game is loading, it will display in it's "Native Resolution" on the 3DS screens. Unfortunately, this is going to make the black bars bigger and not smaller. As far as I can tell, this is the only other display mode that the 3DS supports when playing DS ...

You are correct. Nintendo gave us folders and named ones at that with the capacity for up to 60 items and at the same time also gave devs the ability to push updates. Apparently nobody put up any official info about how to create folders yet so I'll just describe my experience in doing so (note that wherever I tap an icon/folder in the home screen, you can ...

You will still be able to use the Download Play on the 3DS - I've done it, and it works quite well. :)

I don't know if this is the specific problem you're having, but there's apparently some hardware weirdness when the 3DS is in sleep mode, possibly related to sleep mode with DS games. Exposure to magnetic fields might be part of the problem. For instance, putting a 3DS on top of a DS Lite (which has magnets in the speakers in the lid) can sometimes cause ...

As for part one of your question, the wifi antenna is wrapped around the touch screen as shown below:

The 3DS doesn't have any actual link between the two games, it's still just using the password system, to transfer back and forth your new items (sword and shield upgrades, the biggoron sword etc). Just remember that the passwords are generated on your specific game, based on where you are at in the story, what items you have, what you named Bopin and his ...

As far as I know, there is no way to permanently delete this app. You have a couple of options to avoid clicking it accidentally, though: Place it in a folder. When you select an empty spot in your Home Screen, you can choose to create a folder. You can then place the Health and Safety Information, along with any other built-in app you don't want in a ...

Hopefully this describes what you want to do. From Nintendo: How to Change the Mii Character Used in StreetPass Mii Plaza Important Note! Only a Mii character that was created by the user can be used as the display Mii. What to do: Select StreetPass Mii Plaza on the HOME Menu, and tap "Open." Highlight your Mii Character and press ...

Looks like the eShop will update on Thursdays, starting on June 16: Nintendo moves US eShop updates to Thursdays.

You're misinterpreting those links. There is no Nintendo Channel on the 3DS; you also need a Wii to play that demo. The DS demos on the Nintendo Channel work by having the Wii broadcast the demo using the Download Play feature of a DS. That feature is also available on the 3DS, so you can play the demo on your 3DS that way, but there is (currently?) no way ...

To activate StreetPass for the 3DS Sound app, tap on the StreetPass button on the lower left of the touch screen. The lower part of the screen will have a button that says StreetPass Off. Tap that and then tap the On button and Confirm to turn StreetPass on. This requires that you have at least one song in the StreetPass playlist. To achieve this, first you ...

On page 3 of the Other Settings section of System Settings, you'll find an option called System Transfer. This lets you move all your stuff from one 3DS to another, including save data. This page has a bit more info. Note that you can only do this a limited number of times and all the data will be erased from the original 3DS.

There is no transfer from the Wii to the 3DS for games. You can transfer your Mii from the Wii to the 3DS, but that is all. If you want the VC games you bought on your Wii to play on your 3DS, you are going to have to buy them again from the 3DS eshop.

You need the new games, as those are the only way to get Plaza Tickets (you get them for accomplishing various goals in each game - they are like rewards for gaining achievements). Once you have at least one of the new games, you can start earning tickets, and then can exchange them there for various outfits or hats for your Mii (they change apparently ...
