So, any Demon Hunter Build is going to divide its skills into two basic categories. Tools You Use To Stay Alive, and Tools You Use To Kill Things. In general, these two categories are largely separable, with the former category being the one that changes radically in Inferno. I'll cover both here for completeness sake, but keep in mind that the latter ...

I have a lvl 50 Demon Hunter. Let me teach you how to be a pro. Once you hit level 45, demon hunter just gets so damn powerful and literally invincible. I have posted each skill below followed by which rune you should use in brackets. I will then provide an explanation as to why this is the most effective build. I have also set 2 builds you should use, one ...

I have played only (95% of the time) Demon Hunter since the Diablo 3 release and I have gathered some experience on the new 2.0 patch so here is what I think about paragon points: The first use of Paragon point is to compensate the stats your DH is lacking. You have enough DPS but can't facetank enough ? Spend your point in Core:Vitality and Defense:All ...

Monks and Barbarians take 30% less damage than the other 3 classes. This is an inherent attribute valid from level 1. Now, 30% is significant but I'm not sure it's enough to justify the radical difference you're describing. How certain are you that it's not just your general perception? Because in practice, a Monk does not tend to just stand there tanking. ...

Currently, there are two school of thoughts on the demon hunter build: Sustained DPS Crit hit damage (This is the build I use) Sustained DPS Uses a bow with high attack speed Prefers gear with IAS, Dex, Crit chance, Crit damage (in that order). Stands their ground more (i.e. less reliance on smoke screen, more on shadow power and damage reduction). ...

The Nether Tentacles ability now only causes damage to each enemy once. This means, that they will still pass through each enemy, but now, rather than potentially hitting each enemy multiple times, they will only hit each enemy once. Source - Skill Rune – Nether Tentacles : Tentacles will now only hit each target once The fix to Nether Tentacles was aimed ...

You can use quivers, which are Demon Hunter-specific items. Unlike in Diablo 2, you don't need bow ammo. Now the quivers are a way to provide additional character bonuses—most quivers come with a damage boost and other magic item properties.

No, it's not possible. The following combinations will work: 2h Bow + Quiver 2h Crossbow + Quiver 1h Hand crossbow + 1h Hand crossbow 1h Hand crossbow + Shield 1h Hand crossbow + Quiver

The short answer is that it will depend a lot on your skill & equipment; if you're the god of kiting and never get hit - then all you need is enough dps to kill elites before they enrage, and you can stroll into Inferno asap. Gear Checks Good DPS: You can start Act 1 with 10k dps for tank melee classes; but there is some lower bound as elites will now ...

In general, 1H + Quiver and Dual Wield setups are only worthwhile if the itemization available to you makes them worthwhile. That is to say, if you have access to much a better 1-hander than a 2-hander, than using it instead may make sense, even with a quiver. If you have two of them, dual wielding might even be an option, as there are some stat affixes that ...

Caltrops remain on the ground for 30 seconds if they are not activated. Also, only five caltrops can be active at a time—laying a sixth caltrop makes the oldest one disappear. In addition, zone transitions (e.g., entering a dungeon or descending a dungeon floor) immediately remove all caltrops from the previous zone.

The most obvious difference is that the Archery passive gives you a different bonus depending on your weapon type of choice. A second difference is the choice for the secondary hand - with a hand crossbow it's either another hand crossbow, a shield or a quiver, while with a bow or crossbow the only option is a quiver. Finally, there's another very ...

Archery vs Crit I take no credit for the following, as I did not do the work. All credit goes to nxmehta#1150. Calculation Summary This is the equation to calculate your total DPS (two handed weapon ONLY): DPS = (Weapon DPS) * (Attack Speed Bonus) * (Dexterity/100 + 1) * [(1 - Crit Chance/100) + (Crit Chance/100) * (Crit Damage/100 + 1)] Weapon DPS = ...

Everyone. This makes this skill very party-friendly.

The simplest way to get this achievement as a demon hunter is to get into melee range of the ranged demons and enemies you find (this includes Succubi, Skeletal Archers, and others). They'll run to stay away, so you can simply kill them while they run. No need to get fear on hit equipment. It's an alternative, but getting specific equipment just for an ...

If you can't kill Hell Diablo yourself yet, then you certainly aren't ready for Inferno yet. As to where to farm, currently it's a little weird. Act 3/4 Hell is where you should be, but currently the level 60 gear doesn't drop until you are actually inside Inferno. I believe the best gear you can get in Hell is level 59, so aim for all level 55+ gear. If ...

Here is how you can think about sharpshooter: It guarantees a critical hit within 33 seconds (less if you have higher base crit). It lasts for a short time after your first critical hit (so if you have lots of arrows in the air you can crit for a if they strike near simultaneously). This is why nether tentacles are so great. The breakpoint between whether ...

I did this boss on nightmare as a demon hunter and after a lot of deaths and a lot of repair bills I just wanted to try the stunlock spam that been used by rogues in World of Warcraft! Bola shot + thunder ball rune (left button) Impale + Impact (right button) What I did was basically just standing same place and then: left left right, left left right, ...

I noticed today that when they could not reach a pile of gold, the blue bubble kept flashing over and over.... until my game locked up(it flashed approx 30 times). But so far have not noticed it's frequency related to size of the pile of gold. It has flashed on a 5 gold stack and a 245 gold stack. From my testing I would say it has to be something related ...

Yes, Caltrops do affects flying opponents. See 9:37 or 9:33 in this video where a bat triggers one.

Companion damage scales based on attack speed. This was confirmed by Bashiok and tested by theorycrafters, who arrived at these numbers*: APS Companion Damage 1.00 30% 1.34 40% 1.40 42% 1.43 43% 1.60 48% 1.84 55% *Calculated by looking at the in-game tool-tip, which changes based on the APS of the character. Note: The wolf, being a shorter ...

I am currently playing a melee/grenadier demonhunter in Inferno act 3 and it's working so far. My skillset choices: Grenades runed with (gas grenades) can be used without a bow or crossbow as well as any melee weapon and have a higher damage output than autoattacks. Chakram runed with (shuriken cloud) is used as area of effect damage in melee range. It's ...

There is no need for +discipline gear. I got it with Vengeance in my passive slot, then using smoke screen/shadow power, smoke screen/shadow power, preparation, cluster bomb x3, smoke screen/shadow power, smoke screen/shadow power,. Also, it seems that you can't get the achievement while in town. EDIT: Just got in Bastion's Keep using this method so can ...

If you're wielding a one-hander and an off-handed item, the DPS comparison with a two-hander assumes you'll be un-equipping both weapon slots, which is perfectly valid in all cases... except with demon hunters and quivers. In that case, the calculation is off by an amount equal to the extra DPS your quiver gives you. In fact, the game used to automatically ...

Yes. The generation is per-use unless it says otherwise. This means the faster you shoot, the faster you generate. I am fairly certain you do not need to hit anything to generate hatred. You can generate hatred by shooting at nothing.

There are a couple of reasons for that. Monks and barbarians take 30% less damage by default. Some other reasons include much higher armor due to the mote used skills/passives for most monks Some of them are: hard target rune for mantra of evasion boosts armor by 20% mantra of evasion pops a 2 min 15% boost to dodge, with an additional 15% for the 1st 3 ...

Entangling Shot is made as defensive skill so using it as primary DPS attack isn't really efficient. You should use it with Chain Gang or Heavy Burden rune as a fight opener to keep enemies at bay and make DPS with your secondary skill. Shock Collar is offensive rune and it adds more lighting damage but overall it is still out-damaged by other skills. ...

Well, I think the main issue is that a shield on your off-hand restricts the weapon you use on your main hand to a hand crossbow, as opposed a quiver on your off-hand which lets you use two handed bows as your main weapon. But other than that, i can think of no reason why using a shield would be inherently bad, other than the fact that you need a good ...

I would go with Vitality + Dexterity. I had about 5k hp in Nightmare and was dying constantly. By the time I got to Diablo I had upped it to about 13k and my playing was considerably less, well, dead. Vitality is extremely important to any class, despite whatever the primary attribute(s) may be. Once you get to the harder difficulties having health is a ...

There are various affixes that can appear on gear such as Confident and Diligent that increase maximum discipline. I've only been able to find Hatred regen in D3db, so it looks like I may have been mistaken about that part in my comment. You can stack a little +discipline gear to give you a bit more of a buffer, but that will only help so much in prolonged ...
