The "easier" skills are those that are least situational, those that are constantly useful and don't require leveling up a lot before becoming so. My "easiest" builds so far have been very combat-centric selections, and will normally consist of (in no particular order): Swords, Axes or Maces. I personally favour Swords, but Maces have a very useful ...

This took me about 20 minutes of play to achieve (although I've played the game plenty before, so know how it all works), so it should be fairly straight forward to achieve even if you're new to the game. If you look at the wiki (or the XML file, or the in-game crafting menu) you will see that Diggle Nog can be crafted using a Porta-Still and combination of ...

Krong is completely random. However, if an artifact is already an artifact, he is more likely to try to increment an existing statistic as opposed to giving you a new one.

Corruption-attack monsters Certain enemies (especially the infamous Blobs of Corruption, as well as some bosses and other creatures - you can get more specific information here) have the ability to corrupt items you wear when they hit you. Traps Another way of corrupting items is through item corrupting traps (Corruption Fluid Trap), which look like ...

The following abilities let you reach these: Artful Dodger grants Knightly Leap at level 2 which lets you jump like a chess knight Psionics grants Psychokinetic Shove at level 2 which lets you push the item off that platform Mathemagic grants Froda's Jump Discontinuity at level 1 which randomly teleports you a short distance, so it might take a while to ...

By "artefact" it's referring to items that you pick up and put in your inventory (or use) - specifically this is any specially named weapon, ring, armour, shield and so on. The same applies to the next Archaeology skill, "This Translation is All Wrong!", which will convert an artefact (and thus all it's stats, etc) in to another artefact of the same type ...

To open UberChests you have to find a lever somewhere in the dungeon, which would open the chest for you.

Ground Meat / Ground Cheese heals 3 each, and you get several per grinding, so in some cases when grinding up the lower quality foods, you'll end up with a net gain in healing food. Offal heals 3, grinding it up produces food that heals for a total of 6, albeit it in two actions. Since it stacks, it can also be useful when you're running low on inventory ...

Your Haywire Chance stat is the chance you have of trigger a haywire effect when casting a spell, this is basically the spell equivalent of a critical hit. However, haywire is broken in version 1.0.3 and doesn't work as intended. We can see this from the blog post describing the changes to be expected in 1.0.4: Bugs, Actual Bugs: Haywire not ...

That icon represents Necromantic Defense, not damage. Icons in circles like that represent defensiveness and make you more resistant to attacks of that kind. Icons in squares represent damage and apply when you attack using your weapons (or feet).

Shoplifting or otherwise turning Brax hostile will cause him to attack you (obviously) and will also start the spawning of Dread Collector enemies across that level. Every instance of Brax on the same per floor will react the same way to your misbehaviour - if you steal from a shop on the 3rd level you can expect every Brax on 3rd to turn hostile. If you ...

There are 5 skills under Killer Vegan. The Dredmor wiki has been updated with detailed information on these skills and debuffs. Green Harvest - You can eat non-living things for food, including the corpses of things like robots and demons. There's a 50% chance of getting "Food" when you kill a non-living thing. Killing vegetables has a chance to drop ...

Five-finger discount has been changed, and as of version 1.09, automatically gives you a free item when you enter a store for the first time. I guess the previous version was too risky. It doesn't actually take anything from the shop - all the pedestals still have items on them even after you steal it. It just gives you a random item, which, I assume, is ...

According to master game file (skillDB.xml), Crushed Bones debuff has 8% chances to occur on target hit starting from the skill Mace Rehearsal (level 3 of mace skill). Maybe it has been added in a patch or in an extension, explaining the outdated wiki page

According to this forum post on the official forums it sounds like you have to plant the spores on either a dead enemy or a patch of dirt and wait a few turns. ... Simply you get a Rank1 ability to make 2 'Spore' items at Lv1, you take these spores, click on enemy corpses (or soil) wait 3-4 turns and they grow into Mushrooms, ... It doesn't explicitly ...

Yes, you can even abuse it to stack stuff that is normally not stack-able like wands in the crafting screen and then pull the stack out. If you then use the wand and it burns out, it'll look as if the entire stack is burned out, but if you unstack them again inside a crafting screen only the top one will be. I haven't had any problems doing this with saving ...

As written here by developers is a known bug. Steam Overlay: Looking in to this one. It’d be quite ideal to get this working. Update: It will be fixed in next patch. Yes! What artefact you receive is random, but giving more Lutefisk can result in extra enchantments. Specifically, each 125 Lutefisk added to the statue for one object will grant an extra enchantment on the artefact received. So, 500 Lutefisk for an object will grant the best possible results of four extra enchantments. Given there is a % chance of getting an ...

Ingots have limited uses outside of forging. They can be: Ground with an Elven Grinder, to make ingredients for potions, Sold to Brax, Transformed into lutefisk with the Hodaric cube. If you chose to transform then, you should rather make something like bolt from them, in order to obtain more lutefisk from one ingot. Edit: If you want to sell them, you ...

According to the Steam forums, this doesn't appear to serve any purpose within the game. However, it might be a reference to one of the game's beta testers: I'm relatively (90%) sure it's a reference to DeadlyRedCube, an IRC regular, beta tester, and game developer who is friends with the devs of Dredmor So it seems to just be a nod to a friend.

You need to enable/disable the expansion when you start the character, so in order to see the new content, you'd need to start a new character.

Tomes are merely off-hand weapons that you can use for additional stats. So to 'activate' them, you simply equip them in your off-hand slot and you will gain whatever additional stats they have. Eg: The "Little Black Book" will give you 2 additional Necromantic damage and 1 Necromantic damage resistance. Plus any additional stats should it have more ...

I've played almost exclusively magic users (although I tend to roll a bit of assassination in there as well), so perhaps my experience will be of use to you. The biggest thing I can say is - exploit the enemy AI. They tend to be fairly braindead about how they assault you, and they won't open doors or use teleportation glyphs. One time I took a whole zoo ...

You can craft steel ingots with Iron, Chalk, and Coal in an Ingot Press. Note that if your Tinkering (or Smithing) level is at least 1, this recipe produces 2 ingots for every 1 set of reagents, making Tinkering a very profitable skill tree to have if you need to produce Steel. Iron ingots are pretty common, and don't forget that you can make them by ...

It depends on what style of character you want to play. You should pick at least one melee weapon skill or unarmed for any character. For defense you want Master of Arms or Artful Dodger (or both). I tend to favor Master of Arms because Walk It Off provides some healing. Be sure to match the armor you wear to the skill you picked. For magic using characters ...

It is effectively unlimited (except probably by how many different stats are available). When you factor in the possible results of using an Anvil of Krong on previously enchanted objects or the (currently bugged so it adds extra enchantments in some cases) "This Translation is All Wrong!" Archaeology ability it is possible to get items with lots of ...
