Some of the Seasonal Events added in the recent update (1.05) have very good prizes. So far I've only attempted the 493hp GT-R race but coming 3rd gave me 340,000. This update has also increased the rewards for winning races, but this is only in effect until the end of January 2011. See ...

A-Spec, Extreme series, American Championship, Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Use a Race Modded Corvette (total cost ~600,000) for ~100k every 4-5 minutes. This seems to be the grind to go to for repeatable cash.

To toggle the wipers, press R3 (push the right analog stick in).

The differences in a harder or softer tire compound include not only the maximum amount of grip available, and a theoretical maximum distance on each set that was identified by both you and Wonea, but most importantly compound affects how quickly the tire will heat up. The speed in which the tire heats along with the track temperatures will make most of ...

I think the reason they've implemented the "Delivery" system is that they're keen for you to have at least one look at all the cars you receive. The whole GT Life mode seems geared towards giving the player an experience of a range of cars throughout history, so they don't want you to have cars just appear in your garage that you never notice. So no, I ...

A lot of people got this in the first NASCAR race in the Special Events. You can get in first, go the finish line and wait. When the second place car comes up, have it push you across the finish line.

Just reach level 20.

The PS3 supports the configuration of a proxy server in the Network Configuration. It can be any HTTP proxy server. So you could try to run a simple proxy server on your computer, and point the PS3 to it. Then, the proxy should be able to resume the download if the connection breaks, assuming it is setup as a caching proxy server.

If you are just after money and don't mind "playing unconventionally" (i.e. cheating) there is something you can do. I have only read about this and have not tried it. The basic idea is: Get yourself one of the Forumla One cars (e.g. the X2010) Choose a race on one of the indy tracks (Like the Wind, or Dream Car Championship) Using a rubber-band on ...

As far as tuning guides go, give these links link link a try. They will show you most of the tuning-related information you're looking for, but to summarize the GT5 tuning process, here are a few quick tips: For any of the tuning upgrades that you can buy, more is almost always better. In other words, the more money you spend, the better your car will ...

I would imagine they do it to make more money on new games. Most games in the online store I've seen are priced around $20 to $25. Most physical games cost $50 to $60 when they are first released, which probably includes several dollars in per-unit cost for manufacturing and materials. Despite the manufacturing cost, I think selling a game on the store ...

IMO The main reasons are High profile AAA titles (like GT5) are very large and even with fast internet speeds would take a long time to download and put huge strain on the PSN infrastructure, as potentially millions of people would want to download it at once. Smaller indie and older titles are not so big and dont have the same huge release day pressure ...

Unfortunately, there's no way of doing this for game updates at the moment. You can update your PS3 firmware by downloading it onto a compatible USB stick but at the moment I can't find any official source regarding doing the same for game updates. Hopefully this is something that will be added - just because your PS3 is not online, it doesn't mean you ...

Corv1nus' answer is probably the easiest way to get the trophy, but if you want to do it "properly" then the first NASCAR race is still the best way to go. Just race as normal (normal for NASCAR racing anyway - it's all about drafting), move to the front and sit in behind the lead car. Then it's just a matter of timing your overtake so you get in front on ...

I used the Mugen Motul Civic to win it first time round. I took advantage of the fully customizable transmission to improve the low end acceleration and basically shorten all the gears (i don't see the point in long gears to achieve a theoretical top speed I don't have enough track to reach). I had the performance set to PP420. Since I have used the MR-2 ...

İf I understood your question right, the light blue part is the new xp you acquired by the latest event. and their sum (solid + light parts together) is the total xp you have.

Quoting from the Gran Turismo FAQ: What is the role of the host in an online race event? Last Updated: Dec 24, 2007 In the online gameplay (Star type) of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue there is a host player. The host has the following two roles: (1) Manages the start and end of races. Go to your garage and choose your car for which you've bought the upgrade. When hovering with cursor above it, press triangle. In the options for that car, go to tuning and you will be able to make adjustments there.

The GT5 Cars website lists all the cars in GT5 and allows you to search on particular criteria. Search for cars from the United States and then sort the results by P/W (power to weight ratio). I'd suggest picking one of the Chaparral cars or one the Ford GT LM cars, as they're MR layout which should handle better than FR.

Tickets are random. You can maybe use a marketplace forum (like on gtplanet.net for example) to trade it with another car you don't have, or you can use non-reversable tuning on one of them (weight red, engine tune stage, regidity), then compare performances.

I would say the best way to earn money quickly is the Special Events. Some of them like the Jeff Gordon NASCAR Racing school can be pretty quick to go through, and they will get you a lot of Credits and Experience for each one you complete. I just did the Intermediate one last night and got roughly $50k per event. The downside is that once you have ...

Make sure you are signed in to PSN. Once you have selected the car from your garage the option should be available.

The trick with NASCAR driving is to turn off the ABS. That was the only way I could complete the Jeff Gordon special events.

Ask everyone to open the ports in their router, GT5 Prologue reports: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue online uses the following ports for communication with game servers. If you experience problems connecting to online races, you may want to check the status of these ports in your router or firewall to see if they are being blocked or filtered. Your router ...

If you increase the downforce front and rear this should make the car a lot more stable. Adjusting the limited-slip differential can also make a significant difference to the car's handling. I found increasing the settings helped a lot, particularly accelerating out of low-speed corners.

The calm one always drive with a lack of skill but then the aggressive drivers drive too aggressively. It's best to keep a driver between calm and aggressive.

My friend who plays GT5 swears by going to B-Spec mode if he gets bored and just make his AI teammate do races for him. Easiest way of earning creds ever. You could do all of the Top Gear specials, they're super easy to do. ;)
