From my experience, whenever I melee an opponent who doesn't have any shields, the melee always kills them. If you melee when they still have shields, then only their shields are removed (thus taking a max of two melee attacks to kill an opponent). Edit: The Bungie Weekly Update for September 24 has more information about how melee attacks and headshots ...

Suicide, or "Kamikaze" Grunts were added in Halo 3, and can be nasty little buggers if you're not paying close attention to them. That said, they do not run indefinitely. Each difficulty increases the amount of time that a Grunt can run. Mind you, on easy this distance still isn't short, especially if they are close. Here's a breakdown of the times and rough ...

This is only a theory, but were the ones that were getting reduced credits xbox live profiles? If a profile is an online one (AKA a gold subscription I believe) then they work on a different credit scale than that of an offline account. This is done so that offline accounts can experience all the joys of the armory easier, and online accounts can't abuse ...

No. The only official way to get the statue is to purchase the Legendary edition of Halo: Reach. However, there will definitely be some of the statues up for auction on ebay after the game comes out, but these will not be much cheaper then buying the game, and may even be more expensive. Also, Bungie has stated that the Legendary edition (including the ...

"Perform an incredible feat in Multiplayer Matchmaking." Incredible feats in matchmaking are akin to earning medals that are not categorized under any other commendation. These medals include (but not limited to?): Protector (Save a teammate by killing his foe) Avenger (Avenge a teammate's dath) Revenge (Kill the opponent responsible for your death) Show ...

Unlike most PC games, console games provide a number of different control configurations rather than allowing the user to bind specific actions to specific buttons. I doubt it's possible to have the same control configuration on both games if you can't find them among the sets already provided.

You can take screenshots of saved films in the Theater. Every time you finish a game, it is saved (temporarily) to your hard drive (I think that temporary films are deleted when you exit the game, but I'm not sure). In the Pause menu, there is an option to view local files, and in there is a section for your temporary films. Here you can either delete them, ...

How does it work? How am I matched with other players? Here is Microsoft's article for the match making system of XBox Live (So contrary to other answers, yes, there is an answer to this, but you wont get the math specifics) http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/news/features/trueskill.aspx Is there a difference between the cooperative modes (ie ...

When you buy Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, you get two components: the original campaign remastered, along with 6 multiplayer maps and 1 Firefight map using the Halo: Reach engine. If don't own Halo: Reach, you can only play the maps included with Anniversary. There is a Multiplayer option on the title screen of Anniversary that boots up a minimal ...

Spartan Jun-A266 did not actually die on Reach. He left with Dr. Halsey to protect her as she traveled to CASTLE Base. In the books, Halsey later meets up with Fred, Kelly, Vihn, Isaac and Will, and she is no longer with Jun. At some point between leaving for CASTLE Base and that meet up at CASTLE Base, Jun leaves Halsey to go do something else (what is ...

Yes you can. If you want to play online, however, you need to play splitscreen and the other player on your console (there is a max of 2 players per console when playing online) has to have Gold account. You will play as a Guest (not with your account). If you want to play offline it's ok to create up to four splitscreen matches. Summary: Someone in your ...

If you stand on the ground somewhere (maybe at a landing pad-esque area only) and press down on the D-pad, you will "summon an evac". For me, I was warped to the beginning of the mission where a fresh Falcon flew in. I think your new falcon could be shot down by the enemies in this time, as there was a banshee shooting mine. It lived and I blew up the ...

Well, now according to the Halo Wiki the Mark VI helmet costs 300,000 cR and is unlocked at Brigadier, which itself requires 1,400,000 total credits. I suppose next month we'll see if that's accurate.

You need to sneak up behind them and hold the melee button which is usualy the right bumper.

There are a bunch of guides available on True Achievements for this achievement: http://www.trueachievements.com/a60869/if-they-came-to-hear-me-beg-achievement.htm?showguides=1 Ripped from there it appears you do this on the level Pillar of Autumn.

I don't think they need to be. I just got Offensive Driver on Boneyard. Edit: You can unlock any achievements apart from the level-specific ones on any map as long as you have downloaded the DLC.

No you can not command your troopers. The most interaction you have with them is seeing their health on the bottom left of your screen, their names, and they will generally follow you around into combat. However if you flee combat, the troopers will not follow and continue fighting.

If I recall correctly, the controls only differ in the fact that B is melee, and RB is change grenades. Also, there's no Halo 3 mapping that's similar to the default Halo Reach mapping. If it was the other way around it'd be different. The Recon Mapping in Halo Reach is similar to the Default Halo 3 mapping. The closest you will get is the default Halo 3 ...

Wireless works fine for Xbox System Link. Microsoft's help page for system link states: A system link cable or crossover cable for each console, an Ethernet hub or switch with enough open ports to connect the consoles together, or a wireless networking adapter for every console. The more recent version of the Xbox 360 has a wireless adapter built-in. ...

There is two(-ish) potential reasons for this: "I just started with Xbox live" That very well could be your answer. In Reach, offline credits are calculated differently than online credits. When you go online for the first time, it converts your offline credits to online ones, and it takes a lot more online credits to get to General than it does offline. ...

The precision weapons are DMR, sniper rifle, and needle rifle. The pistol is not a precision weapon (it is a small arms weapon).

Not currently no, if you play in the Team Slayer playlist there is a chance that the new maps will appear but only if all players in the game have the DLC installed. At the moment this happens fairly infrequently, the game is still new (and many people will have only just got it for christmas) so people aren't yet bored enough of the standard maps to want ...

It would be 6AM in the EST. http://www.bungie.net/stats/reach/globalchallenges.aspx Here you can see how much time is left before new challenges are available. As for the weekly challenges, those end on Monday at 6AM. (EST)

I generally have problems with hunters as well, but have had some success using a shotgun at medium or close distance. If you shoot them in the back with a shotgun, eventually the armor on their back will fall off, exposing more of their skin. They don't last long when their exposed area is hit with a shotgun.

The answer appears to be 15 to 20 "face shots" with the DMR. I'm not sure if that's what just magically ends up being enough to get a head shot at distance, or whether they really start losing HP. The shots were basically directly to the face, they will bring up their shield immediately after (so don't just hammer on the trigger), and then drop it again ...

Andy's correct, except in game modes where health has been modified. For example, I believe SWAT modes double spartan health, so even though you do not have shields in SWAT, a single melee attack will still not kill an enemy at full health. There may be other game modes either now or in the future that change player health percentages, but I can't think ...

To add a bit about what tzenes said: It is confirmed that Bungie plans to release the campaign matchmaking some time in the future: "If you're looking for campaign matchmaking in Halo: Reach, sit tight. In an effort to keep your first campaign experience spoiler free, we've decided to wait for a bit before we deploy the campaign playlist. From here: ...

So Reach did indeed launch without matchmaking for the campaign. There have been rumors that Bungie is planning to proved that after launch, based on previously made statements. However, Bungie has yet to set a date. You can still do Campaign as Co-Op with your friend; you can also set your campaign (and other modes) to open this allows any friends to ...

You might check your stats on www.bungie.net, you should be able to see all the stats it collects for campaign and matchmaking just by logging in with your Windows Live ID. [Update] I just checked mine, after you login there's a "Medals" link right under "Career Stats" on the left hand navigation. I believe that is what you're looking for.
