Once you've built a Basic Town Portal, all of your heroes gain a Town Portal Basic spell in their spellbook. When a hero is standing in a town with a Basic Town Portal, they can cast Town Portal Basic to teleport to any other towns you own. According to the mouseover, the spell requires 15 movement points in addition to the 10 mana.

Okay, I spent several hours testing this. The answer is...disappointing. It appears that units are placed according to the order that they entered your army. Their order in the city or hero screens do not matter. The only order that matters is the one you see when you right-click your hero -- for some reason the army there is displayed in insertion ...

A Dynasty tracks your progress throughout the game, both single and multi-player, and allows you to gain some benefits from earlier achievements. It is made up of a bunch of pieces that are all inter-related. Heroes - Dynasty heroes include your main heroes from the campaign missions, as well heroes you have created for multi-player. Dynasty heroes are ...

Here a few ideas Use your healing skills. Healing and Regeneration are obvious candidates, but I'm a big fan of the Reinforcements skill. You can only use it once per combat, but it allows you to "overheal" your unit by giving them extra units. Not only do losses get taken out of these units first, but the extra units also increase the damage you deal. ...

There is a threat level for both the enemy hero located in the entrance of the town, and additionally the hero/armies fortified within the town. Right-clicked one will show the other in parenthesis (and vice versa). By engaging in the siege you will fight two battles at the difficulties indicated. If, however, there is no garrison hero, the garrison and the ...

Are you sure you actually own it? If there's an enemy-controlled (or even neutral-controlled fort / town in the area, all of the mine's production will go to them, unless you've got a hero constantly sitting on top of the mine. What week is it? Certain weeks can cause resource or creature surplus / shortfalls. Has an enemy hero plundered / sabotaged a ...

There is no direct indication that the two missions are the only ones, but once those two missions are completed, all of the other campaigns unlock, which would indicate that the tutorial is complete.

If you spend longer on a campaign map, you will get a lower score, so that is one potential negative. Also, you have to make sure that you army is growing faster than your enemy's, or you will never get to a point when you can beat them. The simplest way to do this is to look at the difficulty of a particular enemy you want to defeat. If that difficulty ...

The obelisks that appear on the coasts indicate where you can land a ship. The obelisks on land appear where one towns territory ends and the next towns territory begins. The color of the obelisk corresponds to the color of the player that currently controls the town (with gray representing a neutral town).

They can only use the ability twice per battle. You should see a little number over the skill that tells how many casts you have left for the current battle. In addition, if your sisters get an extra action due to good morale, they will not be able to use their ability during the extra action. Attacks/movement during the extra action is only 50% of what ...

The damage is determined by the physical size of the unit. A unit that needs one tile does 1 point of damage. A 2x2 unit does 2 points damage.

It depends. Generally speaking, a larger army is better than a few levels on a hero, so that would indicate that it is better to take the gold. However, as your hero gains levels, it takes more and more experience to gain a level, which makes the experience in the treasure chests worth relatively less, which indicates that you should take the experience to ...

The varying ranks of Guardian Angel affect not how powerful the effect is, but who it can affect. Rank 1 = Core Creatures only -- Praetorians, Vestels, and Marksmen. Rank 2 = Core or Elite Creatures -- Imperial Griffons, Radiant Glory, Sun Crusader Rank 3 - Core or Elite or Champion Creatures -- any Haven unit.

In Heroes VI, creature production has been divorced from towns entirely, as recruitment is map-wide. This means, for instance, that "creatures produced by a town per week" is less useful than "creatures produced by your entire realm". As far as I know, there's only support for the latter - clicking the arrow on the minimap will bring you to the kingdom ...

There's no benefit to playing the campaigns in a specific order. (Aside from the tutorial campaign, of course) There is however, minor benefits from finishing the five "standard" campaigns before taking on the "final" campaign: since you must pick a hero from one of the finished campaigns for the final campaign, finishing more campaigns gives you a greater ...

It sure does! However, unlike in past Heroes games, it's not accessible via the game itself, but rather as a separate program. By default, this application is buried deep within the bowels of your steam folder. If you've used Steam's default install settings, like I have, you should find it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\might ...

I found what caused my problem: I was in the week of festivals, which cuts all resource income in half. Since I usually only had an income of one crystal per day, the festival cut it down to zero per day.

You can turn off the syncronization in the UPlay settings.

It is an either/or choice, as reputation controls the class of your hero. Once you have enough Blood points or Tears points, your hero changes class and gains a new ability. You then get the chance to fill the points bar a second time (but only with the same type of points), which gives you an advanced ability for your class. As in previous Heroes games, ...

Because your hero carries over from one campaign level to the next, and because I've never been limited by gold at least so far, I've always been taking experience in the campaign. If you need a boost of gold to accomplish some goal, then by all means take it, but I would only give up the potential experience if you're going to put the gold to an immediate ...

There are preset heroes, but only if you play Heroes VI offline. When you aren't connected to the Conflux, you can choose from a list that contains a single Might and a single Magic hero from each faction. When you are connected to the Conflux, you are restricted to your dynasty heroes and the factions they represent. However, as you finish the ...

Nope, sorry. I've run into this myself and you can't get the saved games from the Ubisoft servers, you will have to start anew with the campaign in offline mode to not depend on their servers which right now may be lacking stability. They are very well known for this DRM, see Assassins Creed 2, which unfortunately didn't offer an offline mode like HOMM 6.

You cannot change from Tears to Blood (or vice versa) in the campaign, because your tears/blood path has pretty important ramifications, changing parts of the map entirely. As such, Blood / Tears switching is limited to multiplayer games only.

The only skill that directly supports levelling up faster is Enlightenment, as mentioned by Raven Dreamer in his answer. As far as indirectly making your hero level up faster, you want skills that make it faster to defeat wandering monster stacks, as that gains you the experience for winning combat, as well as access to any treasure chests or artifacts the ...

This is a bug. There is no "scroll lock" option, but this is sometimes triggered if you try to scroll the camera too soon after an auto-save. The only way to resolve the issue is to quit the game and reload.

As of Ubisoft's 1.1.1 patch, this issue should be fixed! • Hot fix on default setting video option detection at start-up causing possible dead locks on laptops • Blinking cursor fix • Fixing a version number issue

In general, no. Units will always move in a direct path towards their goal, even into hazards, such as moats, traps, and the like. I've already lost a handful of turns trying to break down the gate while sieging a town because my units decide to assault from the angle that has them standing in the moat, first. In this particular situation, it would take the ...

I don't think you can actually trade artifacts in town. But if you move one hero slightly out of town, then switch to the other one and click on the hero that just left, you should get an icon of two hands shaking. When your hero reaches the other, you will get a screen that will allow them to trade units and items.

Some towns are limited in terms of what they can build and how far they can upgrade. This is just part of the setup of the scenario. I'm not aware of any way to tell what these limitations are prior to capturing the town. Per chance are you in the second part of the tutorial campaign? The forts in that mission can't be upgraded with any recruiting ...

You can respecialise once you have 250 points in blood or tears.
