To target an NPC in the console without clicking on him with the console open, you can use prid <RefID> command: Sets the NPC as reference, allowing other commands to be used, good for targeting NPCs that you can't reach/select on screen or fixing quest glitches about NPCs not appearing. Once a target is selected, Name and RefID will be ...

Uhmmm it might be irrelevant but, I just hit lvl 66 and went to Winterhold where I encountered a Legendary Dragon. The first time I've ever encountered one and it was badass. Don't know if this is intended or not. The only mod I've got installed which might have changed it somehow is Deadly Dragons.

I found how to stop that glitch. At least for me it worked: Just shoot any arrow without holding the bow at all. Like just do a quick powerless shot, and then you should be able to shoot as before!

Honestly it's hard for me. The volikhar get you no followers, but you can turn your spouse into a vampire, and if your spouse is a follower, a vampire follower. You also get some epic Mage perks, but if you don't feed on blood for several days guards and people will attack you on sight. The dawnguard get you followers, but you don't get to be the leader. ...

I can't really answer since it would require proper testing and I dont know how steam handles multiple accounts, but i can help you play safe meanwhile: When you launch skyrim, in his launcher, you can disable the DLC by pressing the "DATA FILES" button Now you should be able to see a menu with various files ( mods/addons and DLC'S). If you have the ...

There are a multitude of bugs that could cause this, unfortunately. Hence I'd recommend fixing this with a mod that overrides the ai package. Custom Family Home, 1148 endorsements Hearthfire Bugfix, 271 endorsements You may know this already, but it bears repeating: Try out the mods first on a test save that you can throw away. This way you can remove ...

Following your actual question, I have often trained illusion magic for quick exp and levels. My favorite spell early on for this purpose is 'muffle', grab some illusion-reduction gear and magika-regen gear and go spam some muffle. Once you have access to the master level spells, such as AoE spells, cast those in whiterun for about 1 character level per ...

It sounds to me like one of the characters isn't following their script correctly here. Although I've yet to hear about this quest bugging out. You may have done something before giving Septimus the lexicon that bugged one of the character scripts. The best advice is reloading a previous save, even reloading the auto-save right before entering this area ...

You didn't mention whether you have a follower with you, but if not, I would suggest getting one (see http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Followers for more information). A follower provides you with another source of damage and carrying capacity, but depending on your choice of follower, can also act as a tank. This can help by reducing the amount of damage you ...

If you join The Dark Brotherhood and complete their missions you can't be in the Legion and toward the end of the Brotherhood's story line you can defeat General Tullius.

It also helps if you can keep a look out for simply better kit. By dungeon diving (i.e. miscellaneous side quests, or even just going into a cave you find while travelling), will give you valuable extra gold, and you can gain more by the following activities : Turn Silver and Gold into jewellery - which is nearly always more valuable than the raw materiels ...

You gain exp\level every time you level a skill up. The most popular and easiest skills to level are blacksmith and one-hand. To level one-hand you must dual-wield some one-hand weapons, type doesn't matter, but I recommend two axes as they have the best speed and damage balance, as well as weight. It will require you to fight, but there are plenty of quests ...

In Skyrim it is actually counter-productive to simply try to level up as fast as possible in order to get stronger. While this might make you stronger, it will definitely make your enemies stronger. Since Skyrim is so Sandboxy the power level of enemies you face is usually based off your level, so just level grinding without any particular objective will ...

I think you should just go up to a guard and hit him get him mad and say id rather die then go to prison, and then just let him hit you, and you just use fast healing. And to make it faster set it to Legendary but be careful because they will be strong. Hope this help's! :)

You need to finish the 2nd battle in the main questline 'Dragons Rising' you need to do this to get your shouts this is the ONLY way to get dragons to start to spawn. Look more on the www.elderscrollswiki.com

Get the very best shield you can (along with your best armor, etc). Don't forget enchantments. Block a hit from a giant. Heal. Repeat. :D If you can suppress a dragon's breath weapon long enough to make him fight you in melee, blocking a strong dragon for a while will work too. The problem with using a dragon is that if you have a healing spell in ...

The "Invested in store" stat line keeps track of how many stores you have invested in using the Investor Perk from the Speech Skill tree. Investing in a store grants the merchant in question a permanent 500 gold increase to their gold inventory, meaning you can sell significantly more goods to them before they run out of gold.

Summon Arvak the skeleton horse and your horse will return to its respawn spot.

Even easier than raising up a lot of health/defense or attack is to get an immortal follower (some followers for specific quests will follow you even outside of the quest area, and there are a few that are quite powerful). Let them draw the dragon's attention, as well as deal some damage, while you sit back in a shady spot and use your ranged attacks. If ...

Starting the Quest After watching this video on how to start the Hearthfire house quest, you should get a clear idea on what to do. If this video is deleted, you don't understand it or don't want to watch it, here are some excerpts from it. A courier should come and give you a notice to buy a house. (Citation needed?) If you already are the Thane of ...

Stop bounty from increasing So, in your little shack, you have the 3 captives, and Astrid. You simply walk up to Astrid, give her a love tap (kill her), and walk right out of the shack. The reason why it's that easy is because of the below: The people are blinded by their hoods, and are not classes as "free" NPC's. They are scripted to sit down and not ...

I had to start the The Horn of Jurgen Windcaller main quest one only gets from the Grey Beards, after having visited Whiterun, talking to the Jaal there, and being sent of the Grey Beards. While trying to obtain the horn, I was told to go to Riverwood. There, I met two Cultists asking me if I was the Dragonborn, a fight ensued, and I got a note from their ...

Have you tried installing the mod with the Nexus Mod Manager or Mod Organizer? I don't know if they're compatible with os-x though, but it's worth a try. Edit: They're not, thanks MrLemon Okay one more thing you can try is putting the .esp below all other follower mods and overhauls in your load order, since it might generate mod conflict.

Drinking a potion works fine, however if you have a horse, or are able to summon the horse Arvak (Dawnguard DLC) you can fast travel while riding. Also it is possible to do so while riding a Dragon (Dragonborn DLC). Saves time on finding or making potions, and lets you make more money off of the ones that you would find.

Immortal Sorrow, in Nordic speech and speech native to Nordic legends sorrow was a past tense of sorry. As a result it was thought that the gods, aka the Nine Divines, cursed them for ...

Normally on uninstallation save games are not removed by default. But if you wish to back them up you find them here - Documents/my games/skyrim/saves [ for steam version ] Just to point out - you don't actually have "delete" skyrim - if you want a vanilla copy. If you are deleting skyrim because you have a lot of mod files in your data folder the easiest ...

The Beast Stone is one of 4 markers (though there are 5 in total) that need to be cleansed as a part of the main questline in the Dragonborn DLC. This is done with the Bend Will shout. Once cleansed, all the people that are working on the stones will be freed, and you will also gain an ability from it. The Beast Stone in particular will allow you to summon ...

Unless you explicitly disabled the feature in your Skyrim installation. Skyrim game files are backed up to your SteamCloud account every time you exit the game. When you wipe out the game and re-install it Steam will pull your saved game files down from the cloud.

First of all, you can backup your game files by following the instructions here. Then you can right click on Skyrim in the Steam library window, right click and there should be an option to uninstall the game, otherwise known as "Delete Local Content". Once it is uninstalled you can go ahead and re-install it, then follow the instructions above to take the ...

It seems there are a number of reasons you can be spontaneously attacked by Thalmor Justicars. As the comments have mentioned, it may be related to your actions during the quest In My Time of Need. The wiki for that quest states: If Kematu's request is accepted, and the Dragonborn helps him capture Saadia, the Dragonborn may encounter a group of ...

According to this forum post, in Windows 8, the saves are still stored in the same place as Windows 7 (i.e. C:\Users\[UserName]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves), however the saves are now marked as hidden files. To unhide the files: Open an Explorer window, Navigate to the Skyrim folder Press the 'View' tab Check the 'Hidden Items' checkbox

Your file size has most likely absolutely nothing to do with it, although it's probably connected to the number of mods or more fitting, the lack of additional compatibility in your game files. If you install or uninstall any mod, always run the programm "Loot" afterwards, it's free and it will organize your mod-order for you. If you have install/uninstall ...

Not all quest marker mark the direct item. Some markers just mark the vicinity of the quest, where you have to find the item yourself. As explained by the wiki: The monastery entrance can be found by going across the top of the burial mound and down the steps. Once inside, either turn left or right: both passages will lead to the same location. Thorlogh ...

In Oblivion if you had a weapon out while talking to someone it lowered their disposition towards you. This may be why you're asking this question :) This could be used to get a higher rating with that person by persuading them with your weapon drawn, then when you put your weapon away it would bump it up higher than you could normally get it. Since they ...

No, but the items themselves may be related to issues which can cause instability Each item that you get in Skyrim that is not unique is, well, not unique, in that if you have multiples of them, they'll stack. Having 2000 Leather Armor will generally not cause much problem, they're basically just one item but can be multiplied when necessary. Having 2000 ...

Basically, no. Collecting stuff in Skyrim is not "Forbidden", otherwise you wouldn't be able to do it. In terms of it affecting your file size and load times, it's too miniscule to make a difference. However I'm sensing that your question is a bit deeper than that, and you're asking if your antics are causing issues in the game. Depending on how many mods ...

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Enchanting#Skill_Usage is the link you want. The actual mechanics of how to enchant and disenchant, I will copy from the link. UESP's page on Enchanting says: To use the enchanting skill, you will first need access to an arcane enchanter. These stations enable you to both disenchant weapons that you already have in order ...

Three routes spring to mind : 1) From Whiterun - go south to riverwood - and then to Helgen. If you creep around helgen you should be able to get to Ivarstead safely - but that is risky. Don't go through Helgen though. 2) From Whiterun - follow the main road to the north of the "Throat of the world" - If you stay on the main road, you should only meet one ...

Although pretty much useless for anything else, the wabberjack combined with dragon-rend (to keep the thing on the ground) is pretty effective. Dragons are the only thing that the wabberjack will actually hurt. I carry mine all the time and yes - it takes down legendary dragons

I think it's about 14 days of in-world real time. That being said, I don't really recall seeing any of my ores even come back (not that I was paying attention though). After reading up on it, it may also depend on your version of Skyrim (pc, console, etc). It also depends if that ore deposit is being loaded (ie, if you are visiting it) during the mined time ...

(using uncapper) How did you install uncapper? Did you use Nexus? You need to have SKSE installed in order to use uncapper. Have you installed that as well? You need to modify the SKSE_Elys_Uncapper.ini file in your SKSE plug-ins folder. Mine is in E:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins. I simply used Notepadd++ to edit the file. This ...

Well, I took Aela home and left her there in favor of Mjoll. When I came back to the house to pick her up a couple of weeks later, she was in her old armor (but still had the good stuff, the Thieves Guild Armor). After I checked her inventory (and found she still had the Armor of the Old Gods), I brought her along and ever since, she's only worn the Thieves ...

So I experimented a bit by recreating your situation and found a couple of possible solutions that I've listed below. These console command suggestions come with no warranty. However, I found that after waiting roughly 30 seconds the chickens started despawning. So, perhaps you just need to deal with the clucking for a bit? While this isn't the ideal ...

You could load your previous save. If you haven't saved in a long time there might be a command to kill all of them.

If it had all of a sudden happened a while after you had bought breeze home simply load a previous save to when it was called breeze home and then load it back to your current save, this should make the program realise that is what it is supposed to be, I hope this works
