Yes, you get one of those cards for every woman you get into bed. Generally there is only one card per character, but there are two characters that have two cards each. Collecting all of them does not do anything besides letting you see them, there is no additional benefit. These cards are probably the most-criticized aspect of The Witcher. You can try to ...

Geralt's amnesia started in the beginning of the first game, it has nothing to do with save files. Geralt doesn't remember most of what happened to him in Sapkovsky's books. As far as I remember there was no Crinfrid Reavers in the first game.

An imported Witcher 2 save retains several items (see below), roughly 1% of your accumulated Orens, there are a few minor dialogue changes and free goodies depending on choices you've made. Weapons retained: Steel Swords Ard'aenye - (only available to saves imported from the original version of The Witcher. This item was removed from the Enhanced ...

CD Project has commented on the save imports but nothing is confirmed yet. Anyway, here are some vague points: Some quest- and major decisions will be carried over according to your past choices Characters might react differently to Geralt depending on you completed TW1 (1) Importing some of the weapons and armor (2) It will impact the story, though not in ...

Make sure that you finish the trophy quests before leaving each area. You cannot go back to do these later, and you will miss out on an end-game weapon if you do not do them all. The only place where you can really hurt yourself in terms of character development is wasting skill points, so take a careful look at the descriptions and think about how you ...

You shold be able to tell based on how the game cues you for attack combos. On easy, an icon appears as an indicator of when to click to continue the combo, and the times are extended. On medium, the icon still appears, but the times are shorter. On hard, the only indicator of when to click to continue the combo is a distinctive sound effect, and a blue ...

There are two types of runes: temporary and permanent. Temporary runes (Perun, Svarog, Vodon) are consumed on use and give a bonus to your weapon for a period of time (I believe 24 hours). To use them, just right click and then select your sword (note that they can be used on either your steel or silver sword). Permanent runes (Sun, Moon, Earth) are ...

They are sensitive to fire, using Igni to ignite them works pretty well. You can use Argentia oil on your silver sword if you have the material to increase your damage. Be careful to never engage more than one of them, they can't move so you just need to position yourself well. There is also a named archespore in the swamp (Coccacidium) which can easily ...

It's heavily implied that Alvin IS Jacques de Aldersberg, the Grand Master of the Order of the Rose. If you pay attention, Jacques will tell you all the stuff that you tell Alvin. Some more info here.

Well you can use the instructions on the page: The difficulty settings are governed by the script in: \DATA\SCRIPTS00.BIF\witcher_atr_abl.luc Decompile this script using any utility that is listed in the LUC format article under the file formats category. Open up the resulting file in any text editor. In the text editor you should be able ...

Yes, it's possible to complete the game with a sign heavy build. You'll still be using your sword, but with heavily developed Aard and Igni signs, you can get through most of the game with pretty minimal swordplay. Igni in particular is extremely potent at high levels. Again, you won't be able to completely neglect your blades, but they become more a means ...

So, there are two ways that you can complete this quest without wrongly accusing somebody like Kalkstien, Rammsmeat or Vincent. To do this, you need to either successfully complete the Autopsy, by expressing extreme suspicion, and having previously read the books Forensic Medicine and Zerrikanian Insects and Other Vermin, or complete the quest A ...

Actually that should be normal. The quest shouldn't be broken and should advance naturally when you get to the next stage.

Neither Geralt nor the king recognize the assassin, as revealed in The Witcher 2. His noteworthy trait, and the reason why they both share a weird look after the unmasking, is the fact that the assassin is also a Witcher, as indicated by his eyes.

I remember that I've also found him in the room where Vivaldi (the long bearded dwarf) stayed. He seems to wander between that area and the inn. The wiki confirms: Later in the game, Zoltan can be found wandering around the Temple Quarter (roughly from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) and, if choosing to side with the Scoia'tael or take the neutral path, in the ...

This is a minor bug that seems to be fairly common (or so it seemed when I had a similar issue). Simply hold the Shift key while you are on the main menu and your cursor will reappear. If you let off of the Shift key at any time, the cursor will disappear and you will be locked in place in the menu.

The only option beside meditating is drinking a Wive's tears potion, you can create one using Rebis, Quebrith and Aether. If you don't have one you need to stumble to the nearest campfire. You should always have a Wife's tears potion in your inventory, there are two story-related occasions where you have to get drunk and a few more optional ones.

For the skilling: Actually imho the witcher is a melee fighter, so putting more points to the sword skills will work well. For the magic skills: concentrate on one or two spells, that should be enough. Keeping this in mind, you won't make big mistakes on your skilltree. Edit: I read that you can carry over your character to The Witcher 2, so keep your ...

Don't neglect alchemy. There are fights that are incredibly difficult without potions that become easy-mode with the right one(s). Also, there are several points in the game where you are required to make a choice, and this will affect conditions later on (a later fight may have more/different enemies, for example). None of these are game-breakers, but ...

Have you tried a trainer? These programs operate much like a "Game Genie" in that they can edit the values in memory in real-time and give you infinite health, potions, etc. You may have to try a few before you find one that has the features you want and works with the version of the game you have. There are also save file editors, which will edit your ...

The best resource for this is the Shopping List over at the Witcher Wikia. The 'condensed version', totaling up all of the various by chapter lists, provides these aggregate numbers: 40 Beer, 1 Wine, 1 Rose Wine, 5 Sodden Mead, & 3 Temerian Rye 20 of any food item. In addition, you'll need 5 Bread, 1 Dried Nuts, and 2 Sugardolls 1 Daisy, 1 ...

Each chapter has a few key 'point of no return' moments: In Chapter 1, as you noted, Of Monsters and Men is your final quest. Chapter 2 ends with the opening of the Mysterious Tower/the placing of the ten stones in the monoliths. However, the key moment you'll want to delay to avoid closing out sidequests is completing the autopsy - doing it too soon can ...

Gwalhir is one of the best (if not the best) steel swords in the Enhanced Edition, so if you can buy that it will last to the end of the game. You also get a very nice Silver sword at the very end of chapter 4. Both of these swords are much better than even the best crafted swords, but since you can't do anything else with those runes, you might as well ...

Little late to the party, but about the Reavers, its a pretty significant reference if you read the books/short stories. Its the first reference in TW2 to Geralt's relationship to Yennefer (one of the Reavers called her Connifer or some such). The Reavers are in the short story, "Limit of Possibility," which is heavily referenced later in the game. I don't ...

Do not, under any circumstances, download the d3dx9_35.dll DLL file individually from any "DLL download site." There are a number of different reasons that downloading DLLs from these sites are never a good idea. Note: If you've already downloaded d3dx9_35.dll from one of those DLL download sites, remove it from wherever you put it and continue with the ...

Advice on how to conquer the "hearts" of the women in The Witcher can be found in the spoiler checklist at The Witcher Wiki. Regarding the question at hand, since she asks for "something sweet"; you have to give her a sugar doll as present. Such a doll can be found throughout the game, or made for you by the local baker.

As you said Trish's potion, Tulips, White Gull, Wild flowers and food(bread). Chapter II Prostitutes - in the Temple Quarter will accept any flowers. Gossip - in the Temple Quarter during the day near the Hospital or the detective's house. Give her Gold Woman's Gloves, Red Woman's Gloves, or a Diamond. You'll probably have to talk to her several times ...
