There is no foolproof way to find the secret room (except with some of the items you can pick up, like x-ray glasses), but 99 times out of 100 you can find it with one method and a little luck. Most secret rooms are contained in between at least 3 other rooms. All you have to do is look on your minimap for 5 rooms that are all joined in a square "U" shape ...

Honestly, it's all down to luck. The factors that define what you get and where are completely random. First off, when you start, the computer "rolls a dice", and depending on what you get between 1 and 7 defines your luck (item find, possibility of getting curses etc.). 1 being "Curse of the dark" every time, 7 being amazing items in every gold room, ...

Ok, let's try to answer this with the use of images. But first, a little explanation. It is known from experimental evidence (and reported also on the wiki) that the Secret Rooms (the old ones, SR from now on) and the Top Secret rooms (TSR) have the following behavior: SRs are usually surrounded by 3 or 4 other rooms, while TSRs are usually found with a ...

Cancer is a trinket slot item like The Tick, or Cain's Eye, or The Polaroid. The effect it has is to reduce the delay between shots - this is independent of the "Tears" statistic that governs fire speed, so as you get faster tear shots this static reduction in delay is a greater % of the remaining time and your DPS increases geometrically. Trinket slot ...

Known trinkets are as follows: ???'s Soul* - Provides a familiar that shoots homing spectral tears. Other familiars may follow him. Ace of Spades - Improves chances of finding cards Bloody Penny - 50% chance of dropping 1/2 heart upon picking up a coin Burnt Penny - 50% chance of (collectable) bomb spawning when picking up a coin Cain's Eye - 25% chance of ...

Looks like somebody on Steam forums decided to answer this question and to use SCIENCE! while doing it. To put it simply he divides the room in four categories(he calls hidden rooms those that in my other answer I called Top Secret Rooms): Corridors: two exits, they connect the other rooms, no decision about where to go; Junctions: three or four exits, ...

White hearts (which the wiki calls Eternal Hearts) sit above regular hearts, but below soul hearts in the order of what takes damage first. When you fill up a white heart or you go down a level with half a white heart, it turns into a heart container. According to the mechanics guide, any regular heart drop has a 1/50 chance of becoming an eternal heart. ...

I have the DLC for the PC, and at startup, the game was different. I believe the DLC is active from the time that you buy it, there is no option to turn it "on" or "off", at least not from what I saw. And in my opinion, the DLC makes the game significantly harder, but in a random way, if that makes any sense. It all depends on which levels you end up with - ...

When you pass through that door, in either direction, you take half a heart of damage. On the other side you will usually find red chests, which usually have better stuff than normal chests (like two pills or an item), but sometimes have bad stuff like enemies or troll bombs that follow you. Let's answer with a little help from the wiki. Each challenge is played as Isaac and each one has a specific goal. Dark was the Night: Gives you Curse of Darkness (you cannot see the minimap). Ends after killing Mom. Completing this challenge unlocks The Candle, a usable item with instant recharge that throws flames that damage anything on their path. ...

The normal priority excluding the blood machine is soul hearts, then white hearts, then regular hearts. If you use the blood machine at more than half a regular heart, the priority becomes white hearts, then regular hearts, then soul hearts. At half a heart, it will consume white hearts, then soul hearts, then your last half a heart (killing you). This ...

If you want to buy the DLC alone you're out of luck, since it is only available through Steam. Your only chance to get the expansion without DRMs is through the Most Unholy Edition, the boxed set that contains the base game AND the expansion with no DRM, PLUS a Steam gifting key. The link I've put here in the answer is for the signed edition on the ...

If you damage yourself some inconsistent number of times on the spikes in the room, a chest appears.

The red chest can generate a random content. Please notice that they can't be found exclusively in the new challenge rooms, they can also replace normal/golden chests. Until now I've found the following: spawn 2 red spiders teleport you to the Devil's Room/Angel Room give you a "Pretty Fly"-like halo of 3 flies, with the difference that each damage ...

Yes it does, I've just unlocked Samson and I've entered every treasure room along the way, choosing not to pick up Cupid's Arrow and Telepathy for Dummies.

From the wiki: New Secret rooms: Every single level contains one standard secret room (Marked with a white question mark) and one new secret room (Marked with a grey question mark). The new secret room is almost always only connected to exactly one other room, with the only exception being when it is also adjacent to the regular secret room. The standard ...

When you complete the Womb by killing It Lives, you can choose where to go. There will be available a beam of light, that brings you to the Cathedral and Isaac, and the trapdoor, that brings you to Sheol and Satan. So no, the Sheol achievements aren't locked, you just can't get both the new and the old achievements in the same run.

Yes. I had not yet achieved Golden God when I upgraded to Wrath of the Lamb, but after finishing the original game achievements I did receive it. I did not have to finish all the Wrath of the Lamb achievements.

I tested this actually. Took a while to grind so the eternal heart card would spawn on basement 1. Everything adds up. Just because you can only see up to 12 containers (of any kind) doesnt mean that is the limit. I had managed to get up to 14 heart containers. That is, 12 full heart containers, and could still refill up to 2 empty non-displayed containers. ...

As is most things in the game, your items will tell you how you should approach your strategy against Isaac. I've had bomb tears, lazers, rapid fire tears, etc. and took a very different approach each time. General hints: For Isaac's first form he shoots 12 radial tears. You are safe just above or below the room's center left/right (see this video). He ...

For each of the challenges, the boss that you need to beat to win the challenge is (from the wiki page): Mom Mom Mom Mom Mom's Heart/It Lives Mom's Heart/It Lives Mom's Heart/It Lives Mom's Heart/It Lives Satan Isaac So for the last two challenges, beating It Lives is not sufficient for completing the challenge. In addition, in the most recent version ...

Purchasing the Treasure Map in the Dark was the Night challenge will not override the Curse of Darkness As seen in the screen shot of me buying the map below, the map will not show any rooms. The Curse of Darkness has priority over the map. It is just a waste of 15 pennys.

AFAIK, you do now need all secrets per the developer: you also need all secrets unlocked for platinum now This appears to supersede the answer that you found.

For every enemy you kill, there is a chance that your damage will increase. That chance is high, but not 100% - I killed six flies and got four damage increases. It's also possible that each kill actually increases your damage, but the value that it is increased is not always enough to display another bar on the damage stat. The damage increase is only in ...

The heart becomes a permanent one after you beat that level without taking any damage. The wings are permanent and let you cross ravines and spikes without taking damage.

It's been labeled the "Boss Duel Room" by the wiki, and can be entered if you either have one hit point remaining, not counting the soul hearts. It will spawn 2 bosses relative to the floor you're on.

A Missing Page - Random book effect when player uses their Space item. Chance of activating the Necronomicon when taking damage. Source: http://bindingofisaac.wikia.com/wiki/Trinket

The effect did not have any cool down that I could notice and is definitely not one time only. It saved my hide multiple times in adjacent rooms (I was careless).

The hidden room also counts as a border for the secret room, considering that it is just converted terminator. Secret rooms that are only bordered by two normal rooms are also connected to the hidden room.

The Blue Baby ( a.k.a. blue baby ) gets the kill.
