Welcome to Arqade

Arqade is a question and answer site for passionate videogamers on all platforms. It's built and run by you as part of the Stack Exchange network of Q&A sites. With your help, we're working together to build a library of detailed answers to every question about videogames and videogame consoles.

We're a little bit different from other sites. Here's how:

Ask questions, get answers, no distractions

This site is all about getting answers. It's not a discussion forum. There's no chit-chat.

Just questions...

...and answers.

up vote

Good answers are voted up and rise to the top.

The best answers show up first so that they are always easy to find.

accept

The person who asked can mark one answer as "accepted".

Accepting doesn't mean it's the best answer, it just means that it worked for the person who asked.

How do I reset my manor so I can rebuild it with different options?

up vote 14 down vote favorite

I currently have Windstad Manor and built it all. Now I regret some choices and I'd like to rethink and rebuild it.

Is there any console way to "nuke" the manor and rebuild it from ground up?

The only known way to reset the house is to disable the DLC, load the game, save it, then reenable the DLC.

There's no known way to reset or rebuild the house with different additions.

Just remember to take out everything inside that you want to keep.

Usually when I construct a house with the Hearthfire DLC, I'll save before hand to make sure I like the items I've added inside of the house because there isn't a way of undoing the changes once they've been committed. You'll have to reload a previous save and make sure you save before each incremental change to the house.

Get answers to practical, detailed questions

Focus on questions about an actual problem you have faced. Include details about what you have tried and exactly what you are trying to do.

Ask about...

  • Gameplay strategies and tactics
  • Puzzle solving or obstacle clearing
  • Game mechanics and terminology
  • Plot and characters in games
  • Game-specific hardware and utilities

Not all questions work well in our format. Avoid questions that are primarily opinion-based, or that are likely to generate discussion rather than answers.

Questions that need improvement may be closed until someone fixes them.

Don't ask about...

  • Anything not directly related to gaming
  • Requests for game identification or recommendations
  • Questions that are primarily opinion-based, speculative, or gossipy
  • Questions about pirating games, or support for a game you've pirated
  • Questions with too many possible answers or that would require an extremely long answer

Tags make it easy to find interesting questions

All questions are tagged with their subject areas. Each can have up to 5 tags, since a question might be related to several subjects.

Click any tag to see a list of questions with that tag, or go to the tag list to browse for topics that interest you.

Also note that you'll probably lose any building supplies (logs, clay, hinges, locks, etc.) that are part of the DLC. Have fun gathering/making all that again. - Iszi Feb 4 '13 at 15:19
