comment Tolerant doesn't appear to grant Terran equivalent population cap
The 25% is inline with the Silicoids from the first game, I should have figured.

@Vaishali I was speaking in general terms. We also have students on Programmers. I was speaking of median audience in both cases.

The same thing I bring to everywhere else on the network: patience, understanding, decisiveness when called for, integrity, cool-headness, and a passion for the topic. I've gamed since I was five years old. The moderation experience is not sole cause for my qualification but it is a good correlation. I don't agonize over having a binding vote, I know where and when to use it and more importantly not use it. I'm willing to take the time to walk new users through the site if need be. I merely wish to further help a community that I already enjoy and love.

As far the championing of projects, I will generally urge a consensus before proceeding. I was present for the "Scope Wars" on Programmers, so I'm used to grappling with thorny issues that have no clear cut answers. Arqade is a more clear scope than Programmers in terms of what is and is not a valid topic. Thus, I have a good framework for what is and is not healthy. Additionally, I have little issue revising my opinion and stance on something should it prove to be the wrong course of action. I can be very decisive when the situation requires it but I'm big enough to admit when I'm wrong.

@FAE Middleseat mod. I tend to take a very proactive stance against explicitly prohibited behavior such as spamming. Other issues such as site direction and policy, I tend to be more "backseat", gently nudging the community toward a mutually agreeable outcome. As far as adjusting moderation style. Arqade is a different community from Programmers. It is made up of hobbyists and passionate amateurs rather than professionals and thus I will bear this in mind when dealing with the community.

comment What is a “token” creature or structure?
Basically in Magic and other such games, when you've got a generated critter or whatever you'd use a token (traditionally a coin, dice or mancala piece) to represent said critter or whatever. Wizards and possibly other companies now sell "Token" cards for specific token critters (like Goblins or Saporlings [little fungal spawn thingies] for Magic and maybe something a drone in another game).

Same as Magic the Gathering then. Also, why have you not accepted your answer?

comment Is there a way out of being stuck in base in Siege Mode as Derpl?
Right click is the same ability as set to "Q" but there isn't any mouse button mapped to "E" by default. It's likely due to my being on a Mac at the moment.

comment Almost every server on every Source game is not responding
Steam was acting weird for me too until very recently. This however is a question that is too localized to your time and place to be answered here. Ask on the Steam Support Forums, that is what they are designed to handle.

comment What is the most effective ship for soloing higher difficulties in Jamestown?
It definitely takes getting used to but it is very effective.

comment How do I use the Particle Disturbance Sensor?
They are the equivalent of motion sensors from the first game if you wind up playing that one or know how to use those.

comment Does the difficulty of Jamestown scale with the number of players involved?
Given how insanely hard the higher difficulties are, I'd wager that as a plus.

We liked our carebears; they mined for us. We blew up other people's.
