comment How much culture is required for a city to switch?
@C.Ross Yes, they'll revolt again. The people will keep wanting to revolt as long as your culture is stronger, and the revolts will get stronger as your cultural dominance continues to grow. I'm still not sure if the game lets the other civilization stop the revolts completely with a LOT of military units, but if that's possible it really takes a LOT of them.

comment Do both parties get the same technology out of a research agreement?
Wait wait wait... I obviously have not used research agreements enough but... the manual says they just give a 15% research boost. Is that simply wrong? Or is the boost still there and we get a free tech at the end of the agreement? (I'm torn between thinking this is worthy of its own question, and the question being closed as an exact duplicate if I posted it.)

comment How can I stop Civilization 5 from asking me twice which DirectX mode to play in?
I've updated my question... "Why" was meaning more "what is causing" in the hope of being able to disable it. Either way, your answer is one step closer to a solution. Thanks!

comment How important are Harbors in Civ V really?
More specifically, I'm not aware of anything special the harbor does beyond what's listed, so no, you're not missing out on anything by not building it. (bwarner's answer implies he's not aware of anything more either.)

comment What is the cost of movement on roads and railroads in Civilization 5?
@Hello71 What exactly do you mean? 1/3 is indeed what units use on roads with machinery and fast units use on railroads. I could have used fractions but because of either .3333 or 3/10, its going look weird in either decimal or fractions. I'm quite curious how they arrived at 3/10.

comment What is the cost of movement on roads and railroads in Civilization 5?
@bwarner Why yes, Persia was the save I loaded, and I did have a golden age going. Is 70 turns of Golden Age too long? :) With that mystery solved, I'll clean up the answer.

comment How do you cope with unhappiness in Civilization 5?
@Blindy You sound as though you have never 1) Played a multiplayer game where the other players gang up on you when you get large and attack from multiple sides or 2) lived in New York City.---The food one I agree doesn't quite make sense. I don't remember for sure that is supposed to be food.

comment Is it worth connecting my cities with roads early in Civ 5?
@CJM It seems to be based on cultural borderrs. see the question on road maintenance I linked in my first comment for details.

comment Is it worth connecting my cities with roads early in Civ 5?
@Raven I don't know, but the idea certainly amuses me. :) That seems like it almost deserves its own question. If not, I think the question on road maintenance might be a better place to clarify that.

comment What is the formula for trade route income?
There is one more thing that DOES affect trade income: Arabia. Arabia gets +1 income/trade route. I checked to be sure, and this is applied after the population multiplier, just like the + 0.01. So a normal city gets 1.26,2.51,3.76,.. and Arabia gets 2.26,3.51,4.76,...

comment Why does my Civilization 5 Demo crash around turn 12? I use Windows 7
Nvidia says the 8800 supports DX10. Maybe the DX10/11 mode require support for DX11? Have you tried DX9 mode?

comment How do you cope with unhappiness in Civilization 5?
@Blindy It really sounds like you're just trying to take too many cities at once. (If I recall these from middle school correctly...) Empires can fail because they become: Too large to defend, too large to feed, or too large to govern. You just grew your empire larger than you can govern right then.

comment Why do some tiles have pink borders in Civilization 5?
pink/purple seems to be the color associated with culture Civ 5. (and Civ 4) Its the color your culture accumulation is listed in at the top, and the color of the "enact social policy" button.

comment What changes have been made from Civilization 4 to 5?
@CJM I think I may have seen last night. Also, I have been playing on Prince (although I will be stepping up soon) is it possible the prices get higher at the higher difficulties?

comment Is there a chart showing all unit upgrade paths in Civilization 5?
@Oak You keep catching me when I don't fully research the details of Civ 5, and assume they are like the details in Civ 4. I'll just have to stop doing that, in the name of better answers for everyone.

comment Are puppet cities affected by social policies? Golden ages? Wonders?
Yeah, that's certainly a way to check. I was hoping someone had already noticed. If no one posts concrete info I may check this myself tonight and report back.

comment What are the effects of populism on bushido?
Damaging units is not normally a problem... just attack with them. Either they'll win, or they'll get damaged and win next time!

comment How do you play Civilization V by E-Mail?
@Raven Hot-Seat would work the same as Play By Email from the game's point of view, making Play By Email all the more likely. So if that is true we should definitely find a link saying as much.

Also, buying the courthouse is not an option. (Thank you @Oak)
