comment How to understand if an opponent is going to reach Cultural Victory?
This is the best method. Although you must have contact with everyone, it will show you who is actually closest. Its possible for a Civ with more cultural production to be behind in the race to a cultural victory because the cultural production is not concentrated in 3 cities. You should also watch for messages about cities reaching legendary cultural status, at which point Great Artists being born should also be of interest to you.

Or you could see who is actually producing the most culture points directly on the score screen.

comment Does anyone know of any other hidden abilities of civilization leaders?
Not "hidden" exactly, but note that Arabia's special trait is listed in the manual as "+$2/trade route", but in the game it is "+$1/trade route, and double oil resources".

+1 for Disposition. I don't know why I'd been missing that.

comment After buying the deluxe version of civ5 on Steam, where is the soundtrack?
Works great for me. On 64 bit Windows 7, Steam defaults to Program Files (x86), so... C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\Assets\DLC\DLC_Deluxe\Soundtrack

comment Are Steam price cuts predictable?
I think this answer has a lot less speculation and a lot more experience than the other answers. (It certainly matches my experience) Its also something we could measure if we cared to.

comment How do I get my units on a ship?
1) Playing as Songhai allows embarked units to defend themselves. (I do not know to what strength) 2) You can still attack out of boats, but it incurs a penalty just like in Civ 4. I'm considering researching the details of that for Civ 5.

That makes a lot more sense than it doing nothing.

comment What is “stacked unit needs an order” referring to?
Confirmed, and edited back into the answer. That's exactly the situations in which you get those two messages.

comment What is “stacked unit needs an order” referring to?
While this is true, you could still have several units nearby (ie when defending the city from invaders) such that they have to stack the units. I have not encountered this yet, but what else could the game do?

comment What is “stacked unit needs an order” referring to?
Having tried it in game (now that I've remembered) the message I get when two units are legal stacked on each other says nothing about being stacked. So I'm betting you and @bwarner are correct: you only get the message when two units are illegally stacked, you MUST move the units. That makes much more sense anyway. I will confirm the illegal stacking when I get a chance.

comment What is “stacked unit needs an order” referring to?
@Apreche I think I've seen "Stacked unit needs orders" for just a worker/warrior pair, in which case it doesn't mean you MUST move the unit. The message that means that is the one bwarner got.

comment What is the formula for trade route income?
@Oak sigh yeah, we're definitely missing something important.

comment What is the formula for trade route income?
Maybe its the two cities trading with each other... so if you have a capital at 3, trading with cities at 2 and 1, its 3+2 and 3+1, for 9? This is complete speculation, but its something we can test.

comment What's the difference between DirectX 10 and DirectX 9?
@StrixCaria I was trying to give that impression with my last sentence, but I don't think I was very clear. Let me see if I can improve it.

comment What does creep affect?
@tzenes My comment was not intended to switch the perspective, (although I do believe it is useful to think of the Queen on creep as being normal and off creep being the change) but to clarify the way in which the Queen is an exception, which you didn't: for the Queen, the speed difference is greater than 30%. I could have phrased my comment better to do that, sorry. Also, workers move the same speed on and off creep? I do not know how Hydras behave, although I'm betting you can fill us in on that as Dave requested. :)

comment What does creep affect?
Rather than moving 30% faster on creep, the Queen moves much slower off creep.

comment What is the effect of the DLC campaigns on multiplayer?
I'm removing my previous comment because it contained significant speculation, which we don't like. I can say as a software developer that developing/maintaining 4 play experiences is far more money, time, and difficulty than developing 3.

Don't worry, you're not the only one.

Enjoy the screenshots. Note the correction: The effect is +50% for the defenders!
