If I want to focus on magic, can I ignore weapons entirely? I was down-ranked for reasons unknown, but I assume they thought it was a bit off-topic. I brought up magic vs swords because in ES3/ES4, at very high levels, I found pure mage classes to be worthless without seriously exploiting alchemy. In Oblivion, what took 5 minutes of casting then mana regen, with maxed destruction and mods that tripled mana, took me 5 to 10 seconds with a decent sword or mace with 40 skill. This discrepancy is still true, but no longer so much as to make it hard to be a mage, at least on normal. However, as new, harder content is released, this may change, esp. on hard. |

How many steps are there actually on the path to High Hrothgar I didn't realize someone had done it, so I also just manually counted each and every step, and came out to 717. Note that it's hard to determine what counts as a "step" when they are staggered in many cases, and I got jumped by a troll and couldn't remember if I left off at 467 or 477 at one point. So our estimates are very close. |
