How does light spread in Minecraft? An easy way to visualize this is to turn off the "fancy" lighting in Minecraft's video options. This will cause each block to have a uniform amount of illumination across its surface, with harsh transitions at the edges. This makes the light levels — and the "diamond" effect — clearly visible. |
