comment Once you've completed Lost Viking, are you able to select higher difficulties and what are the score multipliers?
does anyone else feel like the controls in lost viking are a bit laggy? When I press an arrow key it always seems to take a half second for the viking to start moving.

comment Why do I have to authorize my map-editor every time I open it?
Is it when you open the map editor, or when you test the map? I've only had to login when testing the map.

comment If your opponent leaves the game, is that considered a full victory?
@tzenes hah that is an even more extreme example than mine - I was thinking of times where I am crushing but just can't finish off the base. waiting for the energy to build up would be agonizing. I know this is probably not a high priority item for Blizzard, but it seems easy enough to fix - something like "flying buildings are revealed after X minutes of player having no CC on the ground, or after X minutes of no unit production, or anything else that wouldn't affect normal play but stop the lame Terrans.

@Juan Manuel, I often wish my opponent would just gg and get it over with. There are times where it is clear I am dominating, but it may still take a while to completely tear down a base. An extreme example would be when mass Void Ray fails to my mass corrupters, but the opponent built a hundred photon cannons, and I have to tech up to brood lords to slowly but inexorably pick them off.

comment How long do the resources last in a Starcraft 2 base?
I think the most important part of tzenes extensive answer is the point that you should expand anytime you can do so safely, not because you might be running out of minerals. At my level (silver) I still win games by simply expanding ASAP while my opponent stays on one base until they run out of minerals. Then they realize I have taken over the whole map and they starve to death.

comment Dealing with the dreaded Terran Base Race
One other factor here is that Terrans can hold a base, or the ramp to their base anyway, pretty effectively with a few units. They can leave a tank or two and a bunker or two, and it will take a while for a typical P or Z army to bust through that. While the Z player especially has no such easy way to defend the base.

the fake GGers I was referring to were the ones that say GG as if they are surrendering, then continue to fight. usually this happens if they have an extra base hidden away somewhere that they don't think you know about. I think the idea is to trick you into letting down your guard.

and don't get me started on the fake GGers. they are like a con man saying "thank you" as they steal your money.

it would be nice to block the "I'm going to hide my CC in the corner of the map so the game won't end until you can build a mutalisk to come kill it" kind of players.

but you would not get many points for beating people that were so far below you, so that should be counterproductive, if the rating algorithm makes any sense at all.

I really like the idea of annoyance survival. i will def. have to try it and see how it pans out.

comment Is there any way to break a Protoss Sentry's Force Field?
@tzenes - turns out they've decided to improve them by making them do less damage! it's brilliant. Now i won't feel so bad when they aren't attacking, because I'll know that they wouldn't be doing a whole lot of damage anyway :)

edited to emphasize i am asking about double 6 pool in particular, which is different than a regular 1v1 6 pool.

@en1gmatic325 replays would be great.

@Robb - imagine that same scenario you saw, but with 6 extra zerglings (and an extra player's worth of APM for micro) focusing down the spine crawler while it builds, while the first 6 chase the drones.

I agree with en1gmatic. the normal 1v1 solution does not work against 12 lings.

if they have twice the number of marines, you will have twice the number of banelings! so it should all work out.
