I really appreciate the Stack Overflow community.

VP of a medium company, B.S. in Computer Science, currently working on creating revenue generating subscription based web applications built on MVC3 / IIS7.5 / ASP.NET4 / C# / MSSQL / MySQL / AJAX. Technology that I have used or learned about: java, javascript, jQuery, c, c#, c++, sql, oracle, fortran, pascal, assembly, basic, VB, F#, J2EE, J2ME, objective-c, etc.

I am the only person at the company who deals with software development making me fill the rolls of a software designer, programmer, dba, server admin, and graphics artist.

My main goals when designing and coding are: how can I make the user experience easiest, and how can I reduce redundancy.

When developing software, I take a duality approach where I design an approximate Waterfall model as a map, and then traverse through the map using a SCRUM agile approach.

"Acknowledge your faults so you can overcome them."

There was a reddit on it: reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/2942zw/ptr_early_greater_rift_tips , and it is also listed on the d3 wiki diablowiki.net/Greater_Rifts

comment What are Greater Nephalem Rifts and how do they work?
@Frank - The gems are essentially soft capped because by level 99, it would require a level 100 rift and then it would only be 10% chance. However, no one on the ptr ever broke level 42 so that is why the maximum is often referred to as lower than 100. It would be impossible to level a gem above level 50 if the highest level cleared were 42. I will update the drop rates if more information is released, but that is essentially what the consensus is from the majority of users I have spoken with. As for the grift levels to torment difficulties, it is pretty accepted

comment What are Greater Nephalem Rifts and how do they work?
@Frank - I was unfortunately sick last week, and missed a lot of work which resulted in probably too many hours of playing this patch. The information comes from doing dozens of greater rifts and communicating with the in game community. The only approximation in this answer is the T1-T5 percentages for the Keystone of Trials. T6 is 100%, but the lower torment percentages are not explicitly noted in the patch notes nor support forums. Which aspect specifically do you feel seems off?

comment Where and when can Treasure Goblin rifts appear?
@Tom - HoA2 never had a single guaranteed spot, but it definitely wasn't "fixed". Sometimes the goblin is replaced by the Iron Maiden event. Extra gold gear does increase the yield of the goblin rift. I made it into one just last night, 2 man on t6 with no gold gear (still with community buff) and it was 80m.

@Frank - Hm, so you think it is a bug? I have this gem, when I get home I will run some tests with screenshots. Do note though, that what you point out isn't really what the OP asked in their question.

comment Is elemental damage on a legendary gem affected by elemental damage on gear?
@Frank - It is the same way that all elemental damage calculations work. The modification is done after the original damage is calculated. I guess my source would be 500 paragon levels of playing, in other words, I am an expert on this topic. If you want a green post from the forums, see here: us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/11986398637 . Another way of looking at this would be to just multiply the 2000 * 1.2, and then take that 2400% of the holy damage, still yielding the 12m in the example.

comment Can Torment-only legendaries drop in Greater Rifts?
As it requires clearing a torment rift first in order to get the key, I would assume that even the lower greater rifts can drop torment only legendaries. I had a shadow's grasp drop in a level 3 greater rift from the guardian and that is listed here: eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/10189299133 as being a torment only legendary. Couldn't find any official posts on it though.
