If you spend your time finding two-or-three-year-old questions to close, perhaps it's a sign that you need a real hobby. (One would think, if you post here, that gaming would be enough of a hobby.)

I mostly play old stuff. The last few weeks, I've been obsessed with Roller Coaster Tycoon. How did I miss this game back in the day!? I bought it and RCT2 from Good Old Games. I haven't even run RCT2 yet, because I'm having too much fun with the original.

I used to be a big Blizzard fan, but they jumped the shark with the StarCraft II EULA. Diablo III will not be getting my money:

  • A company doesn't have a right to tell me I can't play their game offline without logging into their server first.
  • A company doesn't have a right to require that each member of a household buy the game over again in order to play the "full" game.

Back in the days of spawning, with WarCraft II, Diablo, and StarCraft, Blizzard was a great company. Greed has ruined them.

comment Why don't my beefalo produce much manure anymore?
Not sure how I feel about this change, but at least now I know it wasn't my imagination. I've found that I do get manure from the beefalo once I'm around them for a while. It seems that if you set up camp nearby, they'll produce a decent amount...eventually.

comment Can I create a new world in Don't Starve without losing my progress?
This question is now obsolete, as the game now has four save slots (and no Make New World button anymore).

comment Does Deerclops spawn every winter, and how does he behave?
Has something changed since this answer was written? I ran into Deerclops in a recent game, and he never attacked me. He dismantled a lot of stuff in my camp, which was annoying, but he never harmed me, and he left when summer came around again.

comment How does Roller Coaster Tycoon come up with ride ratings?
Also, nausea is primarily a matter of lateral (side-to-side) G's. If you make a lot of sharp left or right turns at high speeds, you'll significantly increase the nausea score. To avoid this, be sure to slow down (e.g. by going up a slope) and/or bank before going into turns.

comment How long of a life is long enough?
Two questions: (1) Do you have to do the 80 days with Wilson, or can you do it with any character? (2) Do you have to do the 80 days at the default settings, or can you do it with different settings (e.g. only summer, only day, different amounts of items, etc.)?

comment Cultures: What were the various games? What do the compilations contain?
Well, GOG games are DRM-free, so they won't suddenly expire at some point in the future.

You can now find all four of them on Good Old Games: Cultures Series

comment How is score calculated?
It does seem pretty strange that defeating the boss doesn't significantly increase one's score. I've found that in some games where I won, I got a lower score than in other games that I lost.
