If you spend your time finding two-or-three-year-old questions to close, perhaps it's a sign that you need a real hobby. (One would think, if you post here, that gaming would be enough of a hobby.)

I mostly play old stuff. The last few weeks, I've been obsessed with Roller Coaster Tycoon. How did I miss this game back in the day!? I bought it and RCT2 from Good Old Games. I haven't even run RCT2 yet, because I'm having too much fun with the original.

I used to be a big Blizzard fan, but they jumped the shark with the StarCraft II EULA. Diablo III will not be getting my money:

  • A company doesn't have a right to tell me I can't play their game offline without logging into their server first.
  • A company doesn't have a right to require that each member of a household buy the game over again in order to play the "full" game.

Back in the days of spawning, with WarCraft II, Diablo, and StarCraft, Blizzard was a great company. Greed has ruined them.

comment How do I optimally use the Ion weapons (Ion Blast, Ion Blast Mark II, Heavy Ion)?
Thank you for writing that first sentence. I was extremely confused as to what "4 damage" meant with an ion weapon.

comment How does sector 8 work?
Well, having faced the rebel flagship for the first time today, in Easy mode, it would appear that the game designers completely forgot to implement Easy mode for the flagship. :(

comment How does sector 8 work?
I've been playing on Easy because on Normal I get killed too quickly to get the hang of the game mechanics. I think of Easy as "training mode".

comment What is the difference between potions of healing and scrolls of healing?
So the bottom line is that scrolls are better, except for the chance of interruption?

@user1337, that might be true, but there's too much on those pages to type here.

comment Will a Wings of Liberty campaign be any different with the Heart of the Swarm extension?
You get the new UI features without buying HotS, though.

comment Can I play SimCity on two computers at the same time?
This question could have been answered without experimentation. Write down all the ways this scenario could be handled, then figure out the most unpleasant one. That is the one that EA will choose.

comment Techniques to keep traffic under control in SimCity 4
I have to wonder whether SimCity 4 doesn't have it correct out-of-the-box, though. Where I live (St Louis), I can get downtown from my house by car in half an hour, or by bus in an hour. Or I can drive to our light-rail system: 15 minutes by car plus 45 by light rail. When you factor in walking time and waiting time, public transit really is much slower than a car.

comment Cultures: What were the various games? What do the compilations contain?
@Wipqozn, suit yourself, old chap, but I was looking for games in a well-defined series, not games that "fit specific criteria or are like an existing game". This question doesn't elicit long meaningless lists of games, as should be obvious from the fact that it has only one answer.

This is just with the out-of-the-box 9% on everything.
