There, it was never really about balance, but now there can be no doubt.

comment Avoiding cheap deaths in TF2
When playing as a unit with a spam-able attack, I often fire randomly precisely to combat surprise scouts and cloaked spies. The more friendly projectiles flying around, the harder your job is, and that suits me just fine. I think your best counter in those situations is just to be cautious, keep your eyes open for incoming projectiles and be prepared to dodge.

comment What tactics are best for killing Deathclaws?
@Fabian: looks like you're right, I was unclear as to how DT worked under the covers. I've withdrawn my comment; JSP is slightly better facing enemies with DT > 15 and much better if DT < 15.

Using A as both "Accept" for transferring large quantities of items and "Take All" is the single worst design decision in that game.

You can sort?! You just blew my mind. And I never thought of trying those boxes.

comment Dealing with thieves in Dwarf Fortress
@RavenDreamer I seem to recall that invisible goblin thieves will bypass traps, and only be caught in them after they're spotted. Are you saying this is untrue?

comment Dealing with thieves in Dwarf Fortress
A spotted thief will immediately attempt to flee your fortress. It won't drop anything it has already stolen, but it won't try to steal anything else. If they have stolen something and you really want to get it back (i.e. a child) cage traps are your best bet (but of course you have to have those set up in advance).

You surround the key's text with keyboard tags as in: <kbd>X</kbd>

comment Remove stairs in Dwarf Fortress?
That's only if user5781's up/down stairs are built on top of each other, of course. A single constructed up/down stair will only exist on one z-level. A mined up/down stair is a little different in that upon removing it, you will still have a downward stair on the original z-level (but the z-level below will still be solid rock).

Although I hear people say #3 all the time, this has never worked for me.

As would I, although the ideal solution would be dwarves that could prioritize construction themselves so that no one gets trapped in the first place. (Not that I'm holding my breath.)

@RavenDreamer "Build corners first" might work for some floor plans, but certainly not all.
