comment How to play old games from the 1980s / 1990s in 2015 legally
@Robotnik There's a distinct lack of clarity in the question; it waffles between the practical realities that you've just described, and statements like 'What economical system would allow to enjoy these games legally and pay their makers?' which seem entirely built as the basis to start a discussion on an ethical or economic question for which Arqade is wholly unsuited. I dithered on closing it as Unclear or Subjective, and opted for the latter based on the actual sentences that end in question marks.

As I read this question, you're not seeking a practical course of action so much as a discussion of ethical imperatives. I'm afraid that Gaming.SE isn't particularly well suited to host such a discussion though.

@Frank you're just being obtuse now. The implication of "should I just read a plot summary and skip the game" makes it fairly clear that the purpose of the question is narrative coherence.
