I'm not sure about that I'm afraid. At a complete guess, I'd say the games still register as installed until you try and play them and that steam would have to reregister the library on the drive.

@MatheusMoreira At best, the game crashes and you lose unsaved data. At worst, the saved game data on the drive becomes corrupted and your computer crashes. It depends on where in the read-write cycle the pc is at the time of removal. I wouldn't recommend it in any case.
