I write perl code for work and python on Google App Engine for fun. I'm currently working on a nomic (the game of modifying the rules of the game) played through IRC, email, the web, twitter, and facebook all at the same time.

Candy Crush Saga Game Strategy There are certainly boards where the layout of the candies is predetermined (particularly the tutorial type boards where they want to show off a particular feature the first time you play them), but after that it seems clear that most of the candy is completely random. |

Dwarf Fortress no mouse support It's also useful to mute the game without holding downarrow until it repeats 255 times, but yeah, essentially the mouse does nearly nothing. |

How can I get an item from a peaceful monster without the murder penalty? You actually do not get an alignment bonus for killing a hobbit as lawful, and certainly not one that was generated peaceful. |

Does a scroll of remove curse uncurse rings and amulets? "as if it was equipped gear" is a silly phrasing; if you wield an object it is equipped gear. |

Getting rid of bones levels on Nethack Cocoa Depends on the current streak. Technically, the bones are destroyed as soon as the level is loaded at all; the problem is that you can leave fresh bones when you die. Loading the bones then leaving the level and dying elsewhere also solves the problem. If you live long enough after you know you loaded them to escape. |

Getting rid of bones levels on Nethack Cocoa Quitting after the bones are loaded instead of dying there will remove it, if you don't care about one more loss. |

What is a good stash? Blue jellies are completely immobile, so they can be used to block off areas to prevent anything else from accessing them. It's also easy to create a lot of them because they split when they're attacked enough by non-cold-resistant attackers (when their passive attack damages you). This isn't particularly useful, although in one case a player filled Sokoban entirely with blue jellies to prevent anything else from spawning in order to overflow the turn counter and finish the game in a negative number of turns. |

Why should I put a coin on engraving Well, it will somewhat help with erosion of Elbereth squares in that hostile monsters won't walk over the square and erode it. Of course, your pets and peaceful monsters will happily keep walking over it so it doesn't help all that much. |

What is a good mid-game pet? Using a wand of polymorph on a weak pet has a fairly good chance of killing it outright from system shock (same deal with zapping yourself at lv 1), and it's usually better to save the charges for polymorphing items (or maybe a strong pet that can handle the polymorph). Repeatedly displacing a pet onto a polytrap is usually a better way to get a strong pet (no chance of system shock, plus you don't waste a finite resource). |

What could be this potion that I see everywhere? FYI, nethackwiki.com is a far better resource than the old wikia site, which is riddled with ads that cover the content and which has been largely abandoned by th ecommunity. |
