comment What order should I play the Half-life series in?
Episode Two is a worth successor to Half-Life 2, and very significant to the story. Episode One is not as good, but it's worth the 4-5 hours to play through for the story setup.

@Iszi: That is true, but it does tell you exactly what to do, which is the next best thing.

You can also get your hands on potion recipes, telling you about an effective combination without requiring trial and error.

comment How to skip battle animations in Civilization V?
Wow, that is incredibly useful. Nowadays I always enable quick combat, but when you forget there seems to be no way to turn it on later (although perhaps you could edit a save). Winning a way by stealth bombing the enemy to smithereens doesn't need to take hours with this trick.

comment Magic damage vs Physical damage based on level
I think I noticed casting rate improving when my skill level got higher. If that actually happens, it would increase your DPS on spells like ice spike and fireball. In any case there are several perks for increasing destruction damage, so that is still some scaling, hickupy as it might be. Finally, with higher levels other mages will be selling you better spells. Personally I haven't had any problems up to level 38 on expert playing a mage that only uses destruction, restoration and conjuration. Most enemies die in 1-4 fireballs anyway.

comment How do I kill a giant?
If you have the destruction dual-casting perk and a large enough magicka supply you can easily keep staggering them until they're dead. Maybe have to sprint away from them once or twice, but no pathfinding bugs required.

comment How do I adjust the FOV for Skyrim?
In my experience, regardless of whether you used the fov command, sprinting changes the field of view, but only temporarily. Sometimes skyrim does randomly reset the field of view between play sessions though, so the ini file is a good suggestion. By the way, running fov in the console without any arguments seems to reset the field of view to default.

Projectile spells also trigger runes, by the way, although it seems that not all element type spells trigger all element type runes.

comment Stealth with companions
@Pithlit: You do have to go back to have them follow you again, except if you're attacked while still close, in which case they automatically join the fight to help you.

comment Is a Skyrim Blood Mage feasible?
Cool idea. You might want to split this into multiple specific questions though, as it's very broad at the moment.

You can make a seperate power profile with these settings customized, and switch profiles through the power icon in your notification area.

comment Can you obtain a mammoth tusk without fighting a giant?
If you pull the mammoth by engaging it at long range, you can often avoid aggravating any nearby giants, while it will come toward you so you can finally engage it far away from the giants.

comment Dual casting spells
Dual casting might be more expensive, but it can stagger enemies, and it increases your dps. Worth it if you have enough mana.

comment How do I make money efficiently?
Making a few thousand gold worth of potions is easy. But how do you sell them? I've never found an alchemy shop with more than 1200 gold or so.

comment Is there any reason for me to sleep?
This information is not entirely correct. There are three relevant bonuses: Rested, from sleeping in any bed, bedroll, etc. Well Rested, from sleeping in any bed you own, e.g. in your own house, in an inn you paid for, etc. Lover's Comfort, for sleeping with your spouse. For the next 8 hours, they give you respectively 5%, 10%, and 15% bonus to skill levelling. The wiki page you link has been updated to include more of this information, but seems to forget about the Rested (5%) bonus.
