I am taking an indefinite sabbatical as of 2013-11-15 for reasons of poor fit with the emergent Arqade governance structures brought to light at that time.

Learning that “face” time in chat held primacy over Meta for setting and executing consensus extinguished any ability to accessibly engage in site governance. Interest in contributing to Arqade followed and has yet to return.

I love games, but don't have the disposable time to really count as hardcore despite liking traditionally "hardcore" game genres. Besides, the playing experience is so much more interesting to me than the mere winning.

I game mostly on the PC (Windows and Mac) and the XBox 360. iPhone games are fun diversions but keep my attention even less well than usual.

comment Who is the next High King?
@FinnRayment They never answered who "won" the conflict in Daggerfall, and will never answer it. They wrote into the lore of later games that a magical event happened that somehow made every ending a player could get in Daggerfall actually happened in-universe. The in-game book The Warp in the West was added to Oblivion making the "all possible Daggerfall endings became true" part of official game lore for future games. So that's the precedent that this answer and some comments are referencing when they say that it may never be answered, or both might become High King.

comment Who is the next High King?
@FinnRayment And there may never be. (In)famously, the answer to a similar question regarding the ending of Daggerfall is everyone won the war, even though that's impossible, because Bethsoft wanted no-one's experience playing Daggerfall to be contradicted by later lore. They are very likely to do something similar with the High King of Skyrim when the next game comes out.

comment How can I stream PC Games to a Roku Box in real-time?
@JonL. Haven't used 'em, but I imagine they use the old concept of moving execution over the stream instead of the sound/video/input. We had that capability in the 80s. Or, they've solved some sync problems with clever engineering. Regardless, the Roku's protocol is not designed to solve sync problems, and in fact exploits the lack of need to sync in order to add quality buffering.
