I am a computer and video-game enthusiast. I also like reading (mostly fantasy and science fiction). I enjoy good TV and movies too, which is of course subjective.

comment Can I recruit random passers-by?
I've noticed that capturing an incapacitated passer-by (pirates got them) will cause their faction group to become hostile. I'd imagine this would have a similar effect, right?

comment Archangel armor flight mode – is this a bug or am I completely missing something?
I may be wrong, but from watching your first video it appears that the user might be clicking and holding on the unit and then ascending/descending.

comment Why did I lose?
If you have a save you can reload shortly before the end, you could use the observe console command and see what happens.

comment I can increase my skills beyond 100% in Original Fallout?
I believe the maximum for the skills in FO and FO2 is 300%, but it has been a while since I've played them. However, after a certain level the percentage increase per point will decrease, making it more expensive to keep increasing.

comment How can I get all of the graphics to load?
Have you tried verifying the files in Steam?

comment How does attack speed affect damage for various skills?
I had thought that the DPS number on the weapon was the "weapon damage" referenced in skills. A high speed weapon with low damage per hit could have the same DPS as a slow weapon with more damage, making the skills output the same damage.

comment Can I get back my saved data?
@jasonvalderrama If you do plan to do data recovery you should use your Xbox as little as possible, and certainly save as little as possible to the hard drive, until you are able to try to get the save file back. The more you use it in the mean time the greater the chance that the Xbox may decide to write new data over the file.

comment Can I skip Mass Effect 1 and go to Mass Effect 2
To help your decision, you can buy the Genesis DLC for Mass Effect 2 on PC, which summarizes Mass Effect 1 and allows you to make the choice for the major decisions in ME1.

Actually looks like the answers here apply to yours as well, although the questions aren't exactly the same. gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/96370/…

This reddit thread says that should work. Worth a try anyway, if you have the free space to temporarily duplicate the data.

I believe you should be able to create a library one another drive in the new Steam install and point it at the one on the old drive, and it should recognize (and verify) the installs. i've yet to try this myself, however.

comment Which code/variable to look for to reset hearthfire Northwing extentions
You could always save and try each one, reloading until you find the one you want. It'd take a while but then you'd have a definitive list.

comment How do I gain land through conquest?
That depends on the what the war was fought over, or who was doing the fighting. For example, if your 3/4 was three holdings in one county (castle, town and church) and someone attacked you for a religious cause (Norse, Islamc etc), then you'd lose all the holdings in that county if you surrender.

comment How do I gain land through conquest?
Generally speaking, if the person you're fighting for is of your dynasty (has a little blood drop on their picture) and/or you have a 'de jure' claim on the title (is part of a duchy, kingdom or empire you control) then you'll gain that territory when you win.
