Aug 31	comment	What does backdoor mean in strategy games like DotA or LoL? Since when are DotA/LoL games called "strategy games"? I don't mean this in a rude way. I just thought they were part of their own genre, like "Team Action RPG" or similar. Those games, while they do include tactics/strategy, are based around the premise of personal character advancement (RPG) in a team-based setting. It seems strange to call them strategy just because they were originally built using the RTS engines of Starcraft & Warcraft III.

May 20	comment	Warcraft series: Where to start? Interesting, Microsoft specifically did extra work so a particular game could run? Also as a side note, I recall Blizzard released a Warcraft III patch somewhat recently that was aimed at letting the videos run in newer versions of windows. Gotta love Blizzard for still patching their old games like War3 and D2 :)
May 20	comment	Can you tell if your friends are playing without going all the way in-game? Well, the fee also allows you to access the remote auction house so it isn't solely a chat feature. Certainly it isn't the best option in terms of cost, but in terms of actually allowing you to connect with your friends, Steam doesn't seem viable to me unless you are so persuasive that you can convince 60 or 70 friends/guildmates to download steam and open WoW via that client every time. Not to mention that you only need to be on your phone, rather than on your computer.

May 20	comment	Why do Terran players use the Marine blob micro move? Alternately, instead of pressing attack move you can simply press "stop" and the units will attack the closest enemies. Not only does this eliminate the extra finger action, it also reduces the likelihood you'll accidentally A+click on one of your own units and kill it with friendly fire, which happens to beginners more often than you'd expect.
May 20	comment	Does a 64-bit OS improve the performance of World of Warcraft? I'm not so well versed in computer hardware, but is it possible that the bottleneck could also be the hard drive? WoW has a huge amount of data it needs to load, and despite having an extremely powerful computer it usually takes me 2 or 3 minutes of loading screen to actually get into the game. After the first load, it's very quick however. Would it be worth getting an SSD just to install WoW on?

Just to add although that the Balance Druid "rotation" (it's actually more like a priority list) is quite simple and easy to be good at, the Balance spec is actually one of the hardest to reach absolutely tip-top, World of Logs-busting performance, especially since some of the mechanics are subtle and not obvious and you need to know the raid encounters ahead of time to time your eclipses and cooldowns, or if a lot of mobility or AoE is required and you must remain in Solar eclipse.
